Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho é avaliar a distribuição dos focos de calor no entorno de rodovias federais no estado do Ceará/Brasil. A análise foi realizada a partir de dados de focos de calor gerados por satélite e de dados meteorológicos coletados entre 2002 a 2018. Os resultados mostram que os focos de calor no estado concentram-se no segundo semestre do ano, com 87% dos focos sendo registrados entre os meses de setembro e dezembro. A relação entre a precipitação anual e a incidência de focos de calor não é direta, ou seja, anos mais secos, não apresentam, necessariamente, maior quantidade de focos de calor. No período analisado, em anos com maiores índices pluviométricos, observou-se maior número de focos de calor. Estima-se que a causa esteja relacionada com maior disponibilidade de vegetação para queima, bem como a realização de queimadas para o preparo das terras para plantio. Em média, 7% do total dos focos de calor no estado encontram-se no entorno das rodovias. Nos anos analisados, esse percentual variou entre 5% a 12%. Nas três rodovias estudadas (BR 020, BR 116 e BR 222) foram identificadas as áreas com maior risco a incêndios florestais. Os dados meteorológicos e a análise dos resultados do índice de risco de incêndio de Angstron confirmam que o segundo semestre é o período que apresenta condições atmosféricas favoráveis a ignição e propagação rápida de incêndios em vegetação, principalmente no interior do estado. O litoral, por influência da maritimidade e de regime de chuvas mais prolongado, não apresentou alto índice de risco de incêndio. Os resultados poderão subsidiar o planejamento de prevenção e mitigação de desastres envolvendo a dinâmica dos transportes e dos incêndios florestais.
Resumo O método de avaliação aplicado foi o proposto por Silveira et al. (2019). A pesquisa buscou avaliar simulações dos modelos do Projeto Cordex para o domínio da América do Sul que fornecessem dados de precipitação em frequência mensal da família do experimento Historical para município de Fortaleza, Ceará. Foram encontrados quatro RCMs aninhados com dez GCMs totalizando dezesseis combinações denominadas aqui simplesmente por “modelos”. Para realizar a comparação foram utilizados dados observados da Estação Pici (338001) obtidos no Portal HidroWeb durante período de 1970 a 2005. O modelo regional ETA apresentou o melhor desempenho na representatividade do clima presente. A condução pelo modelo global CanESM2, segundo o índice AVALs, se apresentou como melhor simulação para o período avaliado com um CORREL de 0,96 e RMSE_PC de 3,01%. Ficou evidenciado a relação direta da ordem de classificação com espaçamento das grades, ou seja, quanto maior a resolução do modelo mais bem posicionado na classificação. Após a avaliação desses modelos, pesquisadores interessados em aplicar dados de modelagem em Fortaleza terão arcabouço científico para adotar modelos adequados em suas pesquisas. Em tese, os modelos que conseguem representar de forma adequada o clima presente, possivelmente também conseguirão representar o clima futuro.
Resumo Desastres naturais ocorrem desde os primordios, datando desde o surgimento do homem no planeta Terra, a cerca de 350 mil anos atrás. Estes tem modificado ecossistemas de forma a impactar aos mais variados tratos populacionais, qualidade de vida e outras atividades humanas. Desastres registrados no Brasil têm proporcionado significativas perdas, especialmente em áreas e regiões que concentram populações mais pobres e vulneráveis. Como hipótese, acreditamos que seja pertinente disseminação de informação sobre medidas prevenção e mitigação, específicas para cada vulnerabilidade identificada. A inserção de conhecimentos sobre gestão integrada de risco de desastres nas instituições de ensino superior apresenta-se como uma opção efetiva para a divulgação da cultura prevencionista e o fortalecimento de comunidades mais resilientes. Como objetivo geral buscar-se-á averiguar quais os fenômenos físicos naturais desencadeadores de desastres tem contribuído para retardar o desenvolvimento social e econômico. Tendo em vista que o estudo dos desastres é incipiente no país, optou-se por uma pesquisa exploratória e cujo sentido, teve o objetivo de nos proporcionar maior amplitude com o problema da pesquisa em epígrafe. No mundo contemporâneo é imprescindível que os gestores invistam em gestão de riscos e vulnerabilidades. Como sugestão, acredito que possamos levar este tema aos cursos de graduação, pós-graduação estrito e lato senso, para que todos tenham entendimento do assunto e possam disseminar de forma técnica científica as medidas estratégicas para mitigar os efeitos destrutivos dos fenômenos físicos naturais desencadeadores de desastres.
