This was a descriptive and exploratory study, qualitative in design. Its aims were to understand how caregivers experience the home care situation and the contribution of home care teams to continuity of care. The data were collected using a semi-structured interview with 10 caregivers in their homes. Their statements were subjected to thematic content analysis, which resulted in three thematic groups: caregiving decisions; care routine; and the social dimension of care in the context of the Home Care Program. The results indicated low income and education levels among caregivers, severe dependence of care receivers, and difficulties of home care teams to provide material resources. Moderate overload and moderate to severe overload were observed among 60% and 40% of caregivers, respectively, in addition to social life restrictions. Home care presented weak points and compromised domains due to conditions of a socioeconomic nature.
Objective: To evaluate the impact of health education strategies directed to caregivers during patient hospitalization. Yet some aspects of home care were compromised by socioeconomic conditions. ResumoObjetivo: Avaliar a repercussão de estratégias de educação em saúde direcionadas aos cuidadores durante a internação. Métodos: Pesquisa qualitativa, realizada com cuidadores principais de sujeitos incluídos em projeto de educação para cuidados domiciliares, por meio de entrevista semiestruturada. Os dados foram analisados de acordo com o conteúdo temático, organizados em categorias. Resultados: Houve predomínio das orientações verbais com demonstração prática dos cuidados e entrega de cartilhas educativas. Identificou-se baixa renda e escolaridade entre os cuidadores, dependência severa dos sujeitos cuidados e dificuldades das equipes de atenção domiciliar para suprimento de recursos materiais. Conclusão: As estratégias de educação em saúde direcionadas aos cuidadores durante a internação auxiliaram a execução das técnicas de cuidado no domicílio. Ainda assim o cuidado domiciliar apresentou domínios comprometidos pelas condições socioeconômicas. RESUMO: Objetivo: descrever a experiência com o uso da terapia por pressão negativa artesanal como adjuvante na autoenxertia cutânea em trauma ortopédico. Método: relato de experiência fundamentado na vivência prática ao manejo clínico de ferida complexa em paciente acometido por trauma ortopédico. Realizaram-se avaliação inicial, desbridamento enzimático, desbridamento cirúrgico e curativos com terapia por pressão negativa. Resultados: a utilização da terapia subatmosférica de maneira artesanal apresentou resultados positivos significativos, semelhante àqueles obtidos com a utilização de produtos industrializados, pois possibilitou o reparo tecidual do ferimento complexo e viabilizou a autoenxertia com sucesso. Considerações finais: a terapia por pressão negativa artesanal apresenta boa efetividade e eficácia, tornando-se, uma opção para instituições de saúde de pequeno e médio porte, cujos recursos financeiros não favorecem a aquisição de modelos comerciais específicos para tal finalidade.
