Este estudo buscou elucidar a relação entre a cultura patriarcal e a ocorrência de feminicídio íntimo no Estado do Ceará. Trata-se de pesquisa documental, realizada por meio de reportagens de jornais, cujo ponto de interseção foi o assassinato de mulheres por seus ex- ou atuais companheiros. A busca se deu em 3 periódicos locais (Diário do Nordeste, G1 Ceará e O Povo Online), com uso dos descritores feminicídios e feminicídios íntimos no Estado do Ceará e recorte de uma década para análise e discussão. Foram selecionados 54 casos de feminicídio ocorridos entre 2011 e 2021. Buscou-se compreender os principais aspectos históricos relacionados à cultura patriarcal vigente e às nuances da violência contra a mulher. Alguns marcadores foram evidenciados de modo recorrente nos casos de feminicídio, como violência anterior ao crime, ciúmes e a não aceitação do fim do relacionamento. Constatou-se que a maioria dos casos de feminicídio íntimo ocorre no interior do estado, contexto que pode incidir sobre uma expressão mais contundente da cultura patriarcal e do machismo. Além disso, lançamos como reflexão possíveis dificuldades de acesso aos direitos sociais básicos, que poderiam proporcionar uma rede de proteção e apoio às mulheres.
