In der Zusammenschau der drei hier zu diskutierenden Publikationen konstatieren wir, dass, wenn jungen Menschen heute etwas gemeinsam ist, es dann dies ist, dass sie eben jung sind -was gar nicht so wenig und mithin auch weniger banal ist, als es vielleicht scheint: Junge Menschen verbindet (immerhin) das "Kohortenschicksal", eben jetzt in einem bestimmten Alter zu sein. Vor diesem Hintergrund lesen wir die Texte (auch) auf die Frage hin, ob es noch Sinn macht, an Deutungskonzepten festzuhalten, denen zufolge -hier z. B. mit Robert K. Bell (1971, S. 86) formuliert -"nichts dagegen einzuwenden [ist], wenn Jugendliche mit sechzehn Jahren dem Rock and Roll anhängen", dass es hingegen bedenklich sei, "wenn sich jemand noch mit 26 Jahren mit dieser Art Musik identifi ziert", weil die "beibehaltene Identifi zierung vermuten lässt, dass der Anschluss an die Erwachsenenwelt selbst dann nicht gelang, als er möglich" wurde.
