ABSTRACT The present work was carried out in the "El Porvenir" farm, belonging to the popular council of La Coronú in the municipality of Contramaestre, province of Santiago de Cuba in the period from September 2018 to February 2019. The objective of this study was to determine the agronomic behavior of three varieties of corn (Zea Mays L.) that maintains an adequate adaptation to the edaphoclimatic conditions existing in the area. A randomized block design was used, with four replicas; the plots had an area of 20 m2 on a soft sialitic brown soil without carbonate. Growth, development and yield indicators were evaluated in the Criollo, Tusón and Canilla varieties, which were subjected to a simple variance analysis with the use of the multiple range of means test using the Duncan test p = 0.05%. The results showed when evaluating the growth and development indicators of the crop that these do not differ for the three varieties under study. The Canilla variety shows yields of the 5.3 tha-1. In the economic analysis, the unit cost in the Canilla variety was reduced, always lower than the rest of the varieties studied whit the best performance. ABSTRACT The research was carried out in the state agricultural market "Trocha" of the city of Santiago de Cuba, Santiago de Cuba municipality, Cuba. It was done with the objective of carrying out a demographic segmentation, aimed at determining the demand for agricultural products, as well as guaranteeing adequate marketing and food insurance for workers and consumers in the city of Santiago de Cuba. The group survey technique was used in order to seek information on the marketing of agricultural products. Being applied to the universe of the population related to the commercialization of said products, the demand for the main agricultural products was verified, as well as the time of greatest influx at the point of sale. The prices of the products offered are considered as consistent as possible, although the price and quality analyzes must continue, in addition to achieving better handling and transfer of the products. A demographic segmentation study was carried out to characterize the market participants, which allows subsequent decision-making to improve the level of sales. Keywords: Agricultural trade, market, segmentation.
