This article discusses the resolution of a mathematics exercise of the large-scale evaluation of the More Literacy Program, performed by a student with autism in collaboration with the regular teacher and the intern. It starts from the problematic of educational policies that advocate education for all but culminates in the standardization of developmental assessment due to the initial diagnosis of disability. The study is based on the cultural-historical theory of human development, whose understanding of disability is not in what the subject lacks, but in the possibilities arising from the socio-historical-cultural environment. The investigations took place during the 2019 school year in a municipal school of basic education, in the second year of primary schools, with an 8-year-old student diagnosed with autism, with the fictitious name Miguel. The cut brought is from an exercise of the official evaluation of the Program, performed by the student in collaboration with the teacher and the intern. Classroom situations were analyzed in the light of the microgenetic approach of cultural-historical nature, recorded through photography and field diary. The results point to the resolution of the evaluative task in collaboration, which allowed the student with autism to participate in the task that was common to all in the room. They also revealed the need to think of a more democratic and collaborative school. In the final considerations, some indicators of the student's development are listed with focus on discussions about the man and the social function of the school present in the cultural-historical theory.
The complexity of the autism spectrum disorder has mobilized the teaching profession in the school context. So, it is necessary to reflect on teacher training to deal with the teaching of students with that diagnosis. This paper, which is the result of a master's research carried out in a special education school located in a country town in the state of São Paulo, aims to discuss how the teacher, who becomes a researcher of his own practice, articulates the relationships between the cultural-historical theoretical framework and the pedagogical practice. The participants were the teacher, graduated in Pedagogy with a Masters Degree in Education, and his student with autism spectrum disorder. During the school year, the teacher recorded his classes on video, which waslater transcribed. When basing his practice on the aforementioned theory, he started to consider activities that favored the student's immersion in the symbolic sphere, having as a primordial element, the role of sign language. The microgenetic analyzes show evidence that: 1. the change in teaching practice was a (in) tense process; 2. the comings and goings of the transformation process reveal the tensions between the appropriation of a theoretical framework and the way of carrying out the pedagogical practice; 3. the production of pedagogical knowledge comes from the movement between theory andpractice.
The study is based on the theoretical-methodological reference of the Historical-Cultural Perspective, in particular, in the studies of Vigotski that emphasize the beginning role of language for human development. About the children with disabilities, he considers that they develop a new way of understanding and relating, and for this reason, in dealing with them, the boundary barriers of disability (the insufficiencies) cannot be walls that prevent action of the teacher. This, in turn, needs to be attentive to the compensatory ways established in social relationship. Based on these ideas, this study considers that children with ASD have their development linked to favorable social conditions. Fieldwork was carried out in the second half of 2016, focusing on pedagogical activities developed between the student and the teacher-researcher. The situations were videotaped and registered in field diaries; the filming was transcribed in full, considering the body movements, expressions and gestures of the participants. In the course of fieldwork, the teacher-researcher reflects on his practice, changes the way he relates to the boy, and in this movement of exchanges and (re)constructions, the student also changes. The analysis reveals that the teacher-student relationship, mediated by the word, constituted as a space for (trans)formation, elaboration and development of both, student and teacher.
