Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a associação entre confirmação ou não da Covid-19, comorbidades e casos graves da síndrome respiratória aguda - SRAG em Pernambuco-Nordeste-Brasil. Os dados foram coletados do Banco de Dados Open Data SUS do Ministério da Saúde, com informações do período 29/12/2019 e 14/09/2020. As análises foram feitas com o pacote rpart do software R, o qual constrói modelos de classificação ou regressão que podem ser representados como árvores binárias. Os resultados revelaram percentual significativo de cardiopatias e diabetes (média de 51% e 40%, respectivamente) presentes em pacientes com quadro de SRAG, independente da etiologia, nas três áreas consideradas. Observou-se, também, que pacientes cardiopatas desenvolvem SRAG com maior frequência quando acometidos com COVID-19 (64,6%) do que com outras etiologias (35,4%). O mesmo foi observado para pacientes diabéticos com COVID-19 (67,1%) e para pacientes negativos para COVID-19 (27,7%). A taxa de letalidade apresentou-se maior entre pacientes com as duas comorbidades, isoladas (47,6% para diabetes e 45,3% para cardíacos) ou em associação (50,3%), acometidos por SRAG causados por COVID-19. Os resultados obtidos são relevantes para elaboração de medidas de saúde pública visando identificar pacientes de maior risco e desenvolver tratamentos precoces e específicos para reduzir a mortalidade nesses casos.
O ENADE é uma avaliação obrigatória composta pela média ponderada das notas de Formação Geral - FG e Componentes Específicos - CE que, em concluintes de todas as graduações, mede o desempenho em características como habilidades, conteúdos e competências profissionais acerca de seus cursos. Nesse sentido, neste trabalho, objetivou-se realizar um estudo com o propósito geral de realizar uma modelagem estatística em relação à nota do ENADE do curso de Matemática da Universidade de Pernambuco, identificando os padrões de variação da nota obtida pelo curso e, após isso, através da análise de regressão simples, predizer valores das futuras notas desses cursos no exame. Para isso, foi descrito através de um modelo matemático as relações existentes entre duas variáveis (notas e anos) mediante a utilização da análise de regressão linear simples, foram levados em conta a reta de regressão, o Coeficiente de Correlação de Pearson, o Coeficiente de Determinação e a Análise dos Resíduos. A partir dos resultados observados concluiu-se que as notas do ENADE tendem a decrescer ao longo dos anos, já que há uma relação linear negativa entre as variáveis, isso ocorre mesmo tendo todas as notas de CE e a nota de Garanhuns em FG com uma relação linear positiva.

Objetivo: Analisar a estimativa do número reprodutivo efetivo da Síndrome Respiratória Aguda Grave desencadeada pelo novo Coronavírus (SARS-Cov-2), no município de Pombos/PE, Brasil, vinculados a datas em 2020. Método: Utilizaram-se dados de número de casos confirmados do SARS-Cov-2, disponibilizado através dos boletins epidemiológicos publicados pela Secretaria de Saúde de Pombos/PE, Brasil. O determina o potencial de propagação de um vírus sob certas condições. Resultados: Os resultados demonstram que, até 22 de julho de 2020, as medidas preventivas e orientação de saúde não foram suficientes para reduzir a infectividade da doença no município ( > 1), sendo um novo desafio a ser enfrentado por quem atua no combate da COVID-19. Conclusão: Os resultados fornecem avaliações quantitativas ao município de Pombos/PE, Brasil, norteando em medidas de intervenções que podem ser realizadas por outros municípios ao lidar com surtos futuros, novas ondas crescentes.
