Brazil, specifically, the 2016 edition. To this end, we selected the following authors to compose the theoretical-methodological aspect: Goffman (2011), Skinner (2003 among others. The understanding of these actions are translated into different contexts. In environments considered informal, speech and social interaction follow a pattern and sequence of shifts proper to the ritual conversation in which they are inserted. In institutionalized places, the façade preservation strategies used by each interactor are conditioned by the space, requiring, in this context, that they manage impressions in order to protect their faces (GOFFMAN, 2011). Finally, aspects such as conditioning and timely attitudes for Big Brother participants can be seen as unacceptable or unnecessary, i.e., it is configured as the formulation of a negative image. However, for the viewers and for the network they are activators of entertainment, audience growth and strategy to win the program.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
