Abstract-The use of data Grids for sharing relevant data has proven to be successful in many research disciplines. However, the use of these environments when personal data is involved (such in health) is reduced due to its lack of trust. There are many approaches that provide encrypted storages and key shares to prevent the access from unauthorized users. However, these approaches are additional layers which should be managed along with the authorization policies. We present in this paper a privacy enhancing technique that uses encryption and relates to the structure of the data and their organizations, providing a natural way to propagate authorization and also a framework that fits with many use cases. The article describes the architecture and processes and also shows results obtained in a medical imaging platform.

Resumen-El plan Bolonia ha supuesto un cambio a un paradigma centrado en un aprendizaje basado en competencias. En este contexto, las Competencias Transversales (CTs) son fundamentales y un valor añadido para los egresados a la hora de integrarse en el mercado laboral. En arquitectura, los diferentes ABPs que se desarrollan presentan una oportunidad para el desarrollo de CTs, por ello en este trabajo se presenta un repositorio en la nube de buenas prácticas en el ámbito de arquitectura que recopila un conjunto de casos de uso de ABPs, describiendo las diferentes actividades educativas llevadas a cabo y como estas desarrollan y evalúan las CTs. Además, el repositorio describe las metodologías, las herramientas TIC necesarias para su puesta en marcha, permitiendo desplegarlas en la nube en caso de no disponer de ellas. In this context, Transversal Competences (TCs) are key and an added value for integrating the graduates in the labor market. The different PBLs that are developed in architecture degree are an opportunity for developing TCs. Thus, in this work is presented a guidelines repository on the cloud in the architecture scope that recollects a set of PBLs, describing the different educational activities that are performed and how are developed and evaluated the TCs. Furthermore, the repository describes the methodologies and the TIC tools required to run the activities, allowing to deploy on the cloud if they are not available. As a result, an example is presented, this is a collective housing with a small children's school. Also, it is presented how the example is visualized in the repository. En este contexto, podemos encontrar distintas formas de clasificar las competencias, sin embargo, existe una que parece poner de acuerdo a toda la comunidad universitaria, en la que se distinguen dos tipos (González, Wagenaar, 2003), las Competencias Específicas (CEs) y Transversales (CTs). The main advantage of Grid computing over other distributed computing paradigms is its capability to coordinate the access to data and resources in a virtual multi-institutional environment. To this end, the information system plays a decisive role in selecting the services that meet the applications' needs. This paper presents an information system for the Grid that provides transparent and scalable group communication services to standard Grid applications, with the objective of supporting dynamic collaborations that could help address problems that involve only some participants of a virtual organization. In particular, it enables more flexible delivery mechanisms, which allows applications to select the appropriate services before sending their data to the information system. This significantly enhances the protection of data from unauthorized access, and avoids the transmission of unnecessary messages over the network. The proposed information system is based on the use of XML technologies and replication. It introduces several new advanced features that are not currently supported as a whole by any Grid middleware, such as: several entry points to the information, persistent capabilities, support for advanced queries based on XQuery, and support for the industrial standard WS-Policy. The information system has been stress tested under realistic workloads in a Grid infrastructure with 50 sites. Scalability has been evaluated in up to 1000 messages that can be up to 10 KB in size each, updated with a frequency of 5 min.Initiative is a strong collaborative and cooperative link with the Portuguese National Grid Initiative through the IBERGRID agreement. This infrastructure is connected to the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) [6]. The IBERGRID VO for Life Science applications (life.vo.ibergrid.eu) is an example of VO that has been created in the context of EGI to support the research activity in the life science community. This VO enables international collaboration in medical imaging, bioinformatics, and drug discovery.However, dynamic collaborations present a challenge to Grid information systems, because they do not provide a simple way to define special access rights agreed by part of the members of a VO. For example, in a system like VOMS [7], this problem occurs when two or more groups of the VO agree to collaborate on the achievement of a particular objective. Although this can be tackled through the use of thematic VO subgroups, this approach has the disadvantage of requiring the approval of an administrator of the VO (except for very few services such as file catalogues), and requires the reconfiguration of the infrastructure to support differentiation among groups. Moreover, any interaction with the membership to groups must be done through the VO admin role, but even so, the usage of groups to support temporal collaborations is a widely used feature (e.g., biomed VO, IBERGRID VOs) because users in the VO are normally authorized to access all the resources, regardless of the group that they belong to...

SUMMARYThis paper presents a software platform to dynamically deploy complex scientific virtual computing infrastructures, on top of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Clouds. The platform orchestrates different services to provision the virtual computing resources. It dynamically installs the appropriate software to satisfy the requirements of a researcher, both on public and on-premise Clouds. The platform provides a web interface to enable the users to easily management of the lifecycle of virtual infrastructures. It enables users to define infrastructures, share them with other users, deploy and relinquish them, add or remove resources dynamically, create and share application recipes, etc. The paper also describes three case studies to deploy complex infrastructures, namely a Hadoop cluster, a single-node to perform NGS sequencing and a gateway for users to access the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI). This platform promotes a better use of on-premise hardware resources of a research center by allocating the computing resources just-in-time to the specific life time of the virtual infrastructures as well as the deployment of the very same infrastructures on a public Cloud.
