The article presents problems of domestic violence in the context of women violence against the man. Domestic violence became one of the dominating and most controversially valued conceptual areas in the scientifc discourse. The qualitative study aimed to disclose emotional experiences of the man who has experienced violence in the closest environment. The study disclosed broad and exhaustive spectrum of emotional experiences of the man who has experienced woman’s violence. Applying content analysis method, fve categories describing the structure of the man’s emotional experiences and refecting emotional experiences to be related to the very self, wife, stepmother, environment and mother-in-law were identifed.
<p>The paper deals with the social pedagogues’ subjective experience in the context of reconstruction of stress factors. The main aim is to reveal subjective experiences of social pedagogues from the aspect of stress factors they experience and how they express them in various social, cultural, and educational contexts. The respondents were chosen by target convenience sampling, i.e., social pedagogues (N=14), working at education and training institutions for at least two years of work experience; all having higher university education. To analyse the specialists’ experience a qualitative method of data collection have been chosen. Reconstructing a multi-layered context of social, cultural and educational diversity, a complex character of professional stress experienced by these specialists has been revealed. Evaluating the semantics of the chosen social pedagogues’ reactions to stress, overall stress harm to people, covering all layers of the personality structure manifests itself, and it can cause somatic and psychic complaints, social and professional maladaptation.</p>
The article deals with peculiarities of the reactive anxiety state of professionals of socioeducational activities (social pedagogues and social workers). Spielberger’s and Chanin’s personal anxiety scale, illustrating anxiety peculiarities experienced by these professionals, is given. Evaluating peculiarities of these professionals’ reactive anxiety, methods of descriptive mathematical statistics, multidimentional statistics (factor analysis) were used, the method of qualitative research semi-structured interview, content analysis were also applied. It was found that the majority of socioeducational activity professionals experienced mild reactive anxiety, about one third of respondents felt moderate reactive anxiety and a small part, severe reactive anxiety. Such state of respondents enables to avoid big anxiety and psychosomatic disorders.
<p>The article deals with the reconstruction of the context of coping with occupational stress experienced by social welfare specialists in different socio-cultural environments. It is aimed to reveal the contexts of the possibilities to cope with stress and of consequences of stress experienced by specialists of social welfare professions of Lithuania and <em>Great Britain</em> (N=10). The professionals’ experience was analysed using a qualitative data collection method (semi-structured <em>interview</em>), employing open-ended questions by the assessment areas foreseen by the researchers and formulated upon the analysis of scientific literature and the authors’ research, disclosing the peculiarities of experienced occupational stress and possibilities of coping with it. The research data were analysed employing the content analysis method, using the open coding procedure; validation of the research data was performed using an expert method. Reconstruction of the multilayered context of socio-cultural diversity of social welfare specialists of Lithuanian and Great Britain highlighted ambiguous semantics of stress coping possibilities: the success of coping with occupational stress possibly depends on the interaction between the variables of a personality (intrapersonal) and social environment (interpersonal). Stressful situations affect both personally and professionally, causing changes in specialists’ emotions, cognitive activity, behaviour, aggravating relationships with colleagues and reducing work efficiency.</p>
The article deals with the peculiarities of social educators’ and parents’ cooperation possibilities in schools. The article presents the analysis of a qualitative semi-structured interview with parents (N=15) and a quantitative study with school educators (N=176). Employing targeted content analysis of parents’ and teachers’ opinion and written quantitative questionnaire, the peculiarities and possibilities of the cooperation between the participants of the educational process have manifested themselves. These include possible cooperation areas, factors promoting and hindering this process.
