The pandemic caused by the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) has had psychological and health impacts on people's lives around the world. On a psychological aspect, this pandemic has caused anxiety due to low mindfulness. To increase the potential of mindfulness, one of the ways taken is by counselor psychological intervention. The authors used an Islamic counseling approach to reduce anxiety and increase mindfulness. Therefore, the research was conducted using a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. Participants in this study were 14 students consisting of 7 students for each experimental and control group. Participants were invited after filling self-report the anxiety scale facing COVID-19 and indicated that they were in the high category. The data analyzed with the Wilcoxon sign rank test to determine the impact of before and after the intervention was given, then used the Mann Whitney to find out the mean differences between the experimental and control group, and the Rank Spearman to determine the correlation between mindfulness and anxiety. The results showed that Islamic counseling intervention is effective to increase mindfulness which impacted on reducing anxiety in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, the results of correlation analysis using the Rank Spearman show that there is a correlation between mindfulness and anxiety.
This study is meant to describe the types of disability faced by students in inclusive schools and the challenges faced by teachers as well as students in early reading learning for students with special needs in inclusive primary schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted in 12 inclusive primary schools in Magetan Regency, Indonesia. This research is a descriptive qualitative research in which psychological assessment consisting of intelligence tests CPM, and WISC, documentation, passive observation, and in-depth interviews were used to collect the data. The data were collected from informants, events or activities of student interaction in school, and documents of students’ backgrounds and other related documents. The subjects of this study were 72 special needs students with special needs in 12 inclusive primary schools. The data were then analyzed using an interactive analysis model. The results showed that slow learning is the most common type of disability faced by students with special needs in inclusive elementary schools around Magetan Regency, Indonesia. During the COVID-19 pandemic, early reading learning was conducted through distance learning which encountered many obstacles, such as lack of mobile phone due to the low socioeconomic status of parents.
Among the main causes of low learning achievement in mathematics learning is a delayed behavior to do tasks, commonly called academic procrastination. The objectives of this research are to describe and to explain the causal factors and consequences of academic procrastination in learning mathematics for junior high school students. This research was conducted for more than five months. The research took place at six junior high schools in Madiun Regency. The research approach was a qualitative descriptive. The types of data sources were six mathematics teachers and six students, in-class mathematics learning activities, and documents. The data collection techniques were (1) questionnaire, (2) documentation, (3) passive role observation, and (3) in-depth interviews. The data were analyzed using an interactive model, which was implemented in two stages. They are at the time or during the course of data collection and after the data collection. The results of data analysis show that academic procrastination is caused by several factors. They are assumption that the tasks assigned are not important, too burdensome, and difficult to work, insufficient knowledge, too perfectionist, bad management of learning, lack of self-regulation, stress and fatigue, lack of social support, indiscipline teachers, and inconducive school culture. Academic procrastination, most importantly, leads to low learning achievement.
<p>Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) untuk mendeskripsikan perilaku sosial warga<br />normal, warga retardasi mental, dan warga normal terhadap warga retardasi<br />mental, 2)untuk mendeskripsikan interaksi sosial diantara warga normal dan<br />warga normal dengan warga retardasi mental di kampung idiot Desa Sidoharjo<br />dan Desa Krebet Kecamatan Jambon Kabupaten Ponorogo<br />Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Sidoharjo dan Krebet Kecamatan<br />Jambon Kabupaten Ponorogo selama dua belas bulan. Jenis penelitiannya<br />kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologis. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu<br />warga masyarakat, baik warga normal maupun warga retardasi mental. Sumber<br />datanya yang digunakan adalah sumber primer dan skunder. Teknik pengambilan<br />datanya dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh<br />dianalisis dengan analisis kualitatif model interaktif.<br />Dari penelitian yang dilaksanakan diperoleh gambaran, bahwa pada Tahun<br />1970-an sampai dengan tahun 1990-an,warga masyarakat menunjukkan perilaku<br />penolakan terhadap warga retardasi mental di kampung idiot Desa Sidoharjo dan<br />Krebet Kecamatan Jambon Kabupaten Ponorogo. Berbeda dengan sekarang,<br />warga masyarakat berperilaku menerima warga retardasi mental, dengan bentuk<br />perilaku yaitu tidak menyembunyikan, tidak membedakan dengan orang normal,<br />mengembangkan kemandirian dalam taraf sederhana, dan menciptakan<br />kesempatan untuk bersosialisasi. Faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi perilaku<br />sosial tersebut yaitu persepsi yang positif terhadap warga retardasi mental, adanya<br />informasi/penyuluhan, pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang retardasi mental,<br />kondisi ekonomi yang meningkat, perilaku tokoh-tokoh panutan yang bertindak<br />peduli, kesadaran hidup bersosial. Warga retardasi mental yang mendapat<br />perlakuan penerimaan dapat menjalankan aktivitas tingkah laku, keluarga, dan<br />sosial walaupun dalam taraf yang sederhana. Interaksi sosial diantara warga<br />masyarakat normal dan warga masyarakat normal dengan warga retardasi mental<br />mencerminkan interaksi sosial asosiatif. Interaksi tersebut dilatarbelakangi oleh<br />hubungan diantara warga masyarakat normal dan dengan warga retardasi mental<br />yang komunikatif. Interaksi sosial ini menghasilkan nilai-nilai sosial, moral,<br />norma dan lembaga sosial, sehingga keberadaan warga retardasi mental menjadi<br />sesuatu wajar atau biasa di masyarakat desa tersebut.<br /><br /></p>
<strong>Abstrak</strong><br />Desa Krebet merupakan salah satu dari empat desa di Kecamatan Jambon Kabupaten Ponorogo yang mayoritas penduduknya mengalami gangguan retardasi mental, sehingga julukan “Kampung Idiot” masih melekat hingga saat ini di masyarakat tersebut. Kondisi geografis daerah yang terpencil, tanah tandus dan gersang serta dataran yang dikelilingi pegunungan kapur menyebabkan minimnya pelayanan pendidikan, kesehatan yang layak, dan sebagian besar masyarakat berada di bawah garis kemiskinan. Dalam menjalani kehidupan sehari-hari warga masyarakat yang mayoritas mengalami retardasi mental akan berdampak terhadap kesehatan jiwa masyarakat “kampung idiot”, sehingga diperlukan suatu penanganan yang serius dengan memberdayakan masyarakat desa setempat dalam upaya meningkatkan kesehatan jiwa melalui metode proverasi (promosi, prevensi, kurasi, rehabilitasi). Metode proverasi dilakukan melalui serangkaian kegiatan yang meliputi penyuluhan dan bimbingan sosial dalam menciptakan kehidupan yang sehat, baik fisik maupun psikologis, memberikan <em>life skills</em>kepada warga retardasi mental maupun warga masyarakat normal untuk meningkatkan pendapatan ekonomi keluarga, dan keterampilan hidup untuk memelihara diri dan mandiri dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa upaya meningkatkan kesehatan jiwa dapat dilakukan melalui Metode Proverasi (Promosi, Prevensi, Kurasi, Rehabilitasi) dengan memberdayakan warga masyarakat Desa Krebet Kecamatan Jambon Kabupaten Ponorogo.<p><strong>Kata kunci: </strong>Kesehatan Jiwa, Metode Proverasi, Masyarakat</p><p><em><strong>Abstract</strong></em><br />Retardasi Mental The village of Krebet is one of four villages in Jambon Sub-district, Ponorogo District where the majority of the population suffers from mental retardation, so the nickname "Kampung Idiot" is still attached to the present in the community. The geographic conditions of remote, barren and arid land and the plains surrounded by limestone ridges have resulted in inadequate education, decent health care, and the vast majority of people are below the poverty line. In daily life, the majority of people experiencing mental retardation will have an impact on the mental health of the "idiot village" community, so a serious handling by empowering local villagers to improve their mental health through proveration method (promotion, prevention, curation, rehabilitation). The proveration method is done through a series of activities which include counseling and social guidance in creating a healthy life, both physical and psychological, providing life skills to the residents of mental retardation as well as normal citizens to increase the family's economic income, and life skills to maintain themselves and be independent in life Daily.Based on the results of the implementation of community service activities that have been done can be concluded that the effort to improve mental health can be done through Progress Method (Promotion, Prevention, Curation, Rehabilitation) by empowering the people of Krebet Village, Jambon Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency.</p><p><em>Keywords: Mental Health, Progress Method, Mental Retardation Society</em></p>
