This paper presents the results of a study on the feasibility of providing recycled water from West Basin Municipal Water District's facilities for cooling water and boiler feed water requirements at a major southern California refinery. Two recycled water delivery scenarios are presented and the challenges associated with each scenario are discussed. The cost of the recycled water (in US$ per acre-foot) is quantified for each type of recycled water under both scenarios and is compared to the cost of potable water (Business as Usual).
