Recycled Water for Refinery Applications: Challenges, Solutions, and Economics

Abstract: This paper presents the results of a study on the feasibility of providing recycled water from West Basin Municipal Water District's facilities for cooling water and boiler feed water requirements at a major southern California refinery. Two recycled water delivery scenarios are presented and the challenges associated with each scenario are discussed.
