A field trial was conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dibrugarh, Assam Agricultural University (AAU) to study the production performance of local potato cultivar under different farming practices viz natural, organic and conventional farming during rabi season of 2022-2023. The results revealed that significant increase in growth, yield attributes and yield of local potato was observed in organic farming followed by conventional and natural farming. Growth character of potato like plant height both in vegetative (22cm) as well as reproductive stage (28cm) was found higher in organic farming as compared to conventional and natural farming. Results also indicated that the yield attributing characters like number of tuber plant-1 and average individual tuber weight were significantly higher in organic (4.91g and 9.1 nos) practices followed by conventional (4.49g and 9 nos ) and natural farming practices (4.65g and 8.3 nos). Organic practice resulted better yield of local potato (107.23 q ha-1) as compared to conventional (92.94 q ha-1) and natural farming (88.77q ha-1) practices. The net economic return was also significantly higher in organic practice (222.83000 Rs. ha-1) in comparison to conventional (161.85000 Rs. ha-1) and natural farming (141.33000 Rs. ha-1) practices with more B:C ratio in organic practice (1:2.08).
A three years field experiment was conducted under Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Baksa during 2018-19,2019-20, 2020-21 to evaluate the productivity enhancement of Cabbage through Nutrientmanagement inMain and Ratoon crop. The results revealed that treatment with 100% recommended fertilizer dose (RFD)in Main crop and 50% RFD in Ratoon crop was found to contribute more yield attributing parameters andfinal yield in cabbage cultivation among all other treatments. The yield attributing parameters in respect toaverage head weight (816 g), average head diameter (18.20 cm) and days to sprouting (5.1 days) weremore in 50% RFD ratoon crop in comparison to 25% RFD in ratoon crop (626 g, 16.30 cm and 8.2 days)and farmers practices (597g, 13.40 cm and 10.7 days) respectively. Treatment with 100% RFD in Maincrop and 50% RFD in Ratoon crop contributed highest final average yield (45.60 t h-1) with B:C ratio (3.52)in comparison to (39.33 t h-1 and 3.33) (25t h-1 and 2.77) in 100% RFD in Main crop and 25% RFD in Ratooncrop and farmers practices respectively. The Net return (489.94 000h-1) achieved from 100% RFD in Maincrop and 50% RFD in Ratoon crop was also found highest as compared to other two treatments(Rs. 412.70000h-1) and (Rs. 239.73 000h-1) respectively.
