Mixed mo& simulation has over the last years received increased interest to only in case where analog and digital circuitries coexist in one integrated circuit, but also for a faster digital and complex circuitry which needs high precision in simulation. This paper highlights the importance of mixed mode simulation and describes its basic principles. VHDeLDO, a new mixed mode simulation will be presented showing a new feature for the mixed interface and synchronization mechanism. Finally, aand characteristics of a mixed mode simulator. The VHD&DO simulam will bepresentedin the second part, describing its main structure, mixed interface and synchronization methods. The mixed simulation cycle as a proposed for the s " @ 'on effort behind analog VHDL (1076.1) will rrlsobepmmted. In the third part, a complete mixed mode example showing all the capabilities the mixed mode interface concerning the analog VHDL will be &scribed in Mef.of VHDeLDO will be dis~u~sed. Finally, SO= trends on practical e-ie showing ail these characteristics wii be presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
