Summary. Analysis of the results of operations on 673 patients (794 extremities) for thoracic outlet compression syndrome and its complications shows that, at present, only two operations should be performed: supraclavicular extirpation of a cervical rib and resection of the first rib. This first rib resection should be performed via the transaxil!ary route. This route is cosmetically the most favorable; at the same time thoracic sympathectomy is possible and reconstruction of the damaged vessels, if necessary, can be readily achieved.
Key words:Resection, transaxillary first rib -Syndrome thoracic outlet compression.
One year after transplantation, 9 of 13 cadaveric kidneys were functioning well. From this experience we conclude that donor nephrectomy can be performed, in a community hospital with acceptable expectation of success.
