A dengue é uma patologia viral aguda, sistêmica, única e autolimitada em sua forma clássica, transmitida por artrópodes. Entretanto, o ano de 2020, foi marcado pela pandemia do novo Coronavírus (COVID-19) e, verificou-se uma diminuição nos casos de doenças notificadas causadas por arboviroses quando contrastado com o mesmo período do ano de 2019. O presente trabalho tem como proposta convidar os profissionais de saúde e comunidade em geral à reflexão sobre a importância da notificação busca e assistência a dengue no estado de Sergipe em meio a pandemia do novo coronavírus, a fim de demonstrar os altos níveis de subnotificação e ausência da procura por assistência que podem causar impactos na qualidade de vida da população geral. Trata-se de um estudo observacional transversal, com abordagem analítica quantitativa, com dados coletados de 2019-2020 através da análise de Boletins Epidemiológicos e notificações do SINAN (Sistema de Agravos e Notificações) e SIM (Sistema de Informação de Mortalidade). Os dados obtidos mostraram que houve uma redução, comparando-se os anos 2019-2020, de 5164 casos notificados em 2019 para 959 casos (18,5 % do primeiro) em 2020, nas notificações nos casos de Dengue no período estudado da semana epidemiológica 12-30. As informações citadas mostraram que, provavelmente, os esforços direcionados a contenção da nova entidade emergente, COVID-19, dificultaram as notificações e os diagnósticos efetivos da patologia citada.
A Doença de Alzheimer é a doença neurodegenerativa mais comum e principal causa de demência em todo o mundo, sendo um dos grandes desafios da saúde no século XXI. Nos últimos anos, a demência representou a quinta principal causa de morte no mundo, com cerca de 2,4 milhões de óbitos. Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar os dados epidemiológicos da morbidade hospitalar e a mortalidade ocasionadas pela Doença de Alzheimer no Estado de Sergipe, entre os anos de 2008 e 2018. Trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico descritivo, retrospectivo e transversal realizado com dados do DATASUS. No período analisado, foram registradas apenas 21 internações, sendo treze do sexo feminino, doze atendimentos foram feitos em pacientes com 80 anos ou mais. Dados como raça/cor foram ignorados em 18 pacientes atendidos. Com relação a mortalidade, foram registrados 979 óbitos. A maioria dos moradores, 547, eram residentes de Aracaju. O sexo feminino foi o mais acometido com 645 casos e a faixa etária mais acometida foi a de pacientes com 80 anos ou mais, com 697 casos. Através do estudo foi possível avaliar a falta alimentação do sistema, principalmente no Sistema de Informações Hospitalares, uma vez que há poucos casos para serem analisados e algumas informações não são adequadamente registradas. É preciso ressaltar também a importância e contribuição de bases de dados como o DATASUS, pois a disponibilidade de informações públicas é essencial para execução de medidas de ação em saúde, realizadas de acordo com as características epidemiológicas das enfermidades estudadas.
O objetivo deste estudo foi realizar uma revisão de literatura acerca da frequência da resistência ao etambutol em casos ou amostras por Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. Um protocolo de pesquisa foi formalizado e executado para conduzir a pesquisa no banco de dados do PubMed durante julho de 2019 e setembro de 2019, com artigos publicados entre o ano de 2014 e 2019. Os resultados obtidos foram analisados e incorporados ao presente estudo a partir de critérios de inclusão e exclusão estabelecidos no protocolo. Assim, se buscou elucidar acerca da frequência da resistência tuberculínica ao etambutol e como resultado se constatou uma baixa frequência de resistência ao medicamento em questão em relação aos demais medicamentos estabelecidos como de primeira linha, de acordo com o local do estudo, para o tratamento da Tuberculose.
