ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to analyze educational software games recommended to intellectual disabled students in the beginning of their school years in the process of number concept construction, with special class students. It also contributes to deconstruct the idea that the student is unable to learn, a common behavior adopted by a lot of educators that believe these students have lower school perfomance and consequently don't give them learning opportunities as these opportunities are considered higher than their true potential. These children's teaching has been, mainly in relation to the math content, done mechanically disconnected from their daily lives and in many cases comes down to repetition and memorization exercises. The use of educational sofware in teaching intellectual disabled students can bring new challenges to students and teachers, allowing them to work in several ways. The use ofeducational software also develops their intuition and awareness of the contents studied in a playful and dynamic way, providing a new perspective to the process of teaching and learning, meeting their specific educational needs in order to invest in the potencial of the students and not only in their difficulties. This is a qualitative study, which used a case study in a special class for students with intellectual disabilities in a public school in Distrito Federal. There was parti...
