A atual realidade linguística dos habitantes do Estado de Roraima está marcada pela intercompreensão ou translinguagem, graças à desenfreada imigração venezuelana. Apesar de haver certa comunicação, pelo fato do espanhol e do português serem línguas próximas, os venezuelanos procuram os cursos de português oferecidos pelas instituições públicas, com o objetivo de aprenderem a língua e assim ampliarem as possibilidades de inserção no mercado de trabalho. Nessa perspectiva, surge a necessidade de um ensino de língua portuguesa mais voltado para o social, com forma de acolher o imigrante de língua e cultura diferentes. No entanto, poucos professores roraimenses têm formação específica para ensinar português como língua não materna. Dessa forma, surgiu a necessidade de pesquisar quais Instituições de Ensino Superior oferecem cursos aos imigrantes e qual a formação oferecida nessa área. A metodologia foi qualitativa e os resultados mostraram que nem a UERR, a UFRR e o IFRR têm, nas suas grades curriculares, disciplinas obrigatórias voltadas para o ensino de LP a estrangeiros. No entanto, as duas primeiras, oferecem cursos desde 2006 e 2007, respectivamente, com professores e acadêmicos envolvidos no ensino e na pesquisa nessa área, porém, na perspectiva de PLAc, as duas instituições iniciaram apenas em 2017.
O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar o panorama do ensino de Português como Língua Estrangeira/Adicional que vem sendo desenvolvido no Estado de Roraima, até a implementação de ações educacionais para o ensino de Português como Língua de Acolhimento no âmbito da Universidade Federal de Roraima, bem como refletir sobre a importância de uma formação específica para os professores que atendem a estrangeiros em situação de imigração e refúgio. Para tanto, utilizamos uma abordagem qualitativa, cujo instrumento de geração de registros foi o levantamento documental. O arcabouço teórico alinha-se à Linguística Aplicada e ao pensamento decolonial (MIGNOLO, 2013). Constatamos que há entraves no que diz respeito à formação específica em PLAc, embora existam medidas que estão sendo tomadas para tentar amenizar essa problemática. Sugerimos que tal formação deve passar por reflexões do PLAc global até chegar ao contexto local, analisando o perfil dos alunos e a realidade linguística da sociedade roraimense.
Com duas fronteiras internacionais e mais de 10 etnias indígenas habitando o território de Roraima, as escolas locais são atravessadas pelos contatos linguístico-culturais de alunos de diferentes nacionalidades e etnias. Nos municípios fronteiriços do estado sempre houve a presença de estudantes estrangeiros e indígenas que frequentam não só as escolas das comunidades indígenas, mas também das áreas urbanas. Sendo assim, o objetivo deste estudo é analisar a necessidade de uma reformulação curricular das licenciaturas em Letras oferecidas em Roraima, para que possam proporcionar uma educação linguística ampliada (CAVALCANTI, 2013) a professores de línguas maternas e adicionais. Tal preocupação com a formação dos professores de línguas é urgente, principalmente, após o aumento da migração transnacional de venezuelanos, além da dificuldade já existente dos professores para lidar com a realidade sociolinguística complexa na qual os aprendizes estão inseridos. Para tanto, utilizamos uma abordagem qualitativa, com análise das grades curriculares dos cursos de letras das Universidades Estadual e Federal de Roraima. O arcabouço teórico desta pesquisa filia-se à Linguística Aplicada e às novas epistemologias advindas das teorias decoloniais (MIGNOLO, 2018). Os resultados mostram ações incipientes para a inclusão de disciplinas relacionadas à diversidade linguística roraimense e ao ensino/aprendizagem de português como língua adicional (indígenas, estrangeiros e surdos). Ademais, verificamos a urgência de que disciplinas atualmente eletivas, sejam atualizadas na perspectiva aqui defendida e incorporadas à grade obrigatória dos currículos, objetivando a regularidade formativa dos cursos.
