Unitermos: ração, valor nutricional, caracterização química, lemnas AbstractNutritional value of Lemna valdiviana Phil (Araceae) submitted to different concentrations of fertilization with excrement of birds. The objective of this study was to evaluate the chemical composition and nutritional quality of Lemna valdiviana submitted to different
The objective of this study was to evaluate the the influence of feeding rate and different artificial substrates on both the water quality and growth performance of Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp. The experimental design was randomized blocks with five treatments and four replicates, with a density of 30 shrimp m-2 and mean weight of 2.8 g. The experiment lasted 49 days, and during this period, artificial substrates did not influence the water quality. The increase in the feeding rate influenced the dissolved oxygen of treatments. The final average weight, average final length, final biomass, productivity, and feed conversion rate showed significant differences (p > 0.05). The best food conversion factor was provided by the treatment with a feeding rate of 2%. The treatment with a feeding rate of 4% of biomass showed the best growth performance, except for the feed conversion rate. Results showed that for the percentage of 25% of the area of artificial substrates, there is an optimum feeding rate of between 5.13% and 5.54% of shrimp biomass, resulting in maximum production.
The performance and filet quality of tilapias (Oreochromis niloticus) culture in effluent stabilization lagoons was tested at the densities of 3 fish/m 2 (T 3 ), 7 fish/m 2 (T 2 ) and 7 fish/m 2 in clean water + diet (T 1 ) with 3 repetitions in tanks of 2.57m 2 and 0.60m of water column with supplemental aeration. Fish culture in clean water plus diet (T 1 ) presented the highest growth. The higher density T 3 (7/m 2 ) compared to T 2 (3/m 2 ) did not result in any difference of total production (p > 0.05) but this was compensated by the increased individual fish growth rate at lower density. The conditions that sustain fish survival culture with ETE effluent were attested by the high survival (> 90%) under both treatments, but only 10% of the water samples from T 2 and T 3 N-total ammonium was favorable for fish growth (< 2.0mg/L). The rearing system improved the effluent quality, reducing the total organic nitrogen and the solids in suspension. The faecal coliforms, Salmonella sp. and Staphylococcus aureus from the effluent and fish were verified to be within the standards laid down by the World Health Organization (WHO).
-Studies on feeding and nutrition of shrimp are still quite scarce; little is known about the use of agribusiness byproducts in shrimp diets. Therefore, this study aimed to perform nutritional and energy assessments of protein-based ingredients for feed of shrimp of the Litopenaeus vannamei species. The design was completely randomized, with six treatments and four replications: a standard diet and five test diets composed of 70% standard diet and 30% test ingredients (poultry viscera flour -PVF, cassava leaf hay -CLH, shrimp head flour -SHF, sugarcane yeast -SCY and castor bean meal -CBM). We used a total of 720 shrimps with mean weight of 8 g each. Litopenaeus vannamei.
