A degradação das alvenarias é provocada por numerosas causas, sendo estas derivadas de processo patológico com agentes ativos e/ou passivos. Dentre estas, o depósito de sais solúveis nas superfícies das estruturas, denominados eflorescência, é um problema grave nas edificações da Região Integrada de Desenvolvimento Econômico de Petrolina, PE e Juazeiro, BA. Diante do exposto, objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar as características físicas, físico-químicas e químicas dos principais blocos cerâmicos e agregados miúdos comercializados nesta região. O experimento foi em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro tratamentos e seis repetições para os blocos cerâmicos e com nove tratamentos e seis repetições para os agregados miúdos. Com os resultados deste trabalho foi possível a identificação dos materiais de construção com maior potencialidade para formação da eflorescência nas alvenarias de vedação e estrutural. Além disso, a determinação das características físicas dos agregados miúdos possibilitará aos profissionais da região acesso a informações mais precisas para correta dosagem racional de argamassas e concretos, pois o módulo de finura e massa específica são parâmetros importantes nesse caso.
O Vale do São Francisco lidera a exportação de frutas frescas do país, com destaque para a manga. Dentre as variedades cultivadas na região, a manga ‘Kent’ tem se destacado no mercado internacional, pois apresenta sabor agradável, coloração de verde amarelado a vermelho purpúreo, elevado teor de sólidos solúveis e baixo teor de fibra. Nesse sentido, objetivou-se neste trabalho avaliar o efeito do bioestimulante Kamab-26®, nas características físicas e físico-químicas dos frutos de mangueira cv. Kent. O estudo foi realizado em pomar comercial na cidade de Juazeiro-BA. Utilizou-se o delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com 20 repetições para cada tratamento, os quais constituíam de duas doses do bioestimulante (0 L/ha de Kamab-26® e 2 L/ha de Kamab-26®). Para a variável cor da casca foi realizado um delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 2x2 (dose do bioestimulante x lado do fruto). Na caracterização dos frutos, foram avaliados as variáveis massa dos frutos (g), percentual de polpa (%), diâmetro transversal e longitudinal (mm), espessura (mm), percentual de desidratação do fruto (%), firmeza de polpa (N), pH, sólidos solúveis (°Brix), acidez total titulável (g/100 mL), relação sólidos solúveis/acidez, cor da casca e da polpa. Os resultados evidenciaram que o tratamento com Kamab-26® foi significativamente superior para todas as variáveis físicas, com exceção da firmeza. Dentre as variáveis físico-químicos, apenas o teor de sólidos solúveis e o pH apresentaram diferença quanto aos tratamentos. A cor da casca mostrou que o lado externo dos frutos, no tratamento com Kamab-26®, apresentou frutos mais avermelhados e mais opacos, enquanto a testemunha evidenciou frutos mais claros e amarelados. A cor da polpa não apresentou diferença significativa para ambos os tratamentos.
