The Teaching Degree in Physical Education and Sport, like other degrees, has been undergoing a series of reforms with the aim of adapting the curricular matrix to the social demands of employers. In this sense, the article intends to reflect on the training models that guide the curricular proposal of the Degree in Physical Education and Sport courses from the analysis of a curricular experience with characteristics of innovation developed at the Institute of Distance Education of the Catholic University of Mozambique. The research is based on a qualitative approach, supported by documental analysis. For this purpose, scientific articles extracted from different databases, scientific repositories, official documents from the University and the Government of Mozambique were systematized. The scientific systematization resulted in recommendations and a framework with different models, namely: content model, transition model and resistance model. As for the models of teacher training in Distance Education, the following stand out: model centered on the teacher, model centered on technology and model centered on the student; and it is concluded that the training model for Physical Education and Sports teachers at the Distance Education Institute is guided by constructivist methodological principles.
