Résumé Au titre de la politique de la ville, l’Agence nationale pour la rénovation urbaine est responsable de la réalisation et du suivi de la rénovation des quartiers d’habitat social. A ce titre, elle gère des instruments d’intervention financière, les programmes nationaux pour la rénovation urbaine dont les montants atteignent plusieurs milliards. Cet article met en évidence les relations de reddition de comptes en place autour de cette gestion : celles qui doivent être rendue à l’agence, et celles que cette dernière doit elle-même rendre. Il indique ensuite comment l’information qui en découle est utilisée pour évaluer les réussites et les limites de la politique menée. Il souligne toutefois que cette évaluation, qui pointe en particulier trois problèmes, n’est finalement pas utilisée pour la résorption de ces derniers et ne donne pas lieu à « évaluation-apprentissage ».
