Image analysis produced pollen counts in 60 s or less per image, considerably faster than counting with the human eye (5-68 min). In addition, counts produced with the ImageJ procedure were similar to those obtained by eye. Because count parameters are adjustable, this image analysis protocol may be used for many other plant species. Thus, the method provides a quick, inexpensive and reliable solution to counting pollen from digital images, not only reducing the chance of error but also substantially lowering labour requirements.
Currently, Diabetes is a very common disease around the world, and with an increase in sedentary lifestyles, obesity and an aging population the number of people with Diabetes worldwide will increase by more than 50%. In this context, the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) developed the SANA platform, which brings the benefits of information technology to the field of healthcare. It offers healthcare delivery in remote areas, improves patient access to medical specialists for faster, higher quality, and more cost effective diagnosis and intervention. For these reasons, we developed a system for diagnosis of Diabetes using the SANA platform, called S2DIA. It is the first step towards knowing the risks for type 2 Diabetes, and it will be evaluated, especially, in remote/poor areas of Brazil.
XML and Web services are becoming the standard means of publishing and integrating data over the Web. A convenient way to provide universal access (over the Web) to different data sources is to implement Web services that encapsulate XML views of the underlying relational data (Data Access Web Services). Given that most business data is currently stored in relational database systems, the generation of Web services for publishing XML view of relational data has special significance. In this work, we propose RelP, a framework for publishing and querying relational databases through XML views. The main contribution of the paper is an algorithm that translates XML queries over a published XML view schema into a single SQL/XML query over the data source schema.
PALAVRAS-CHAVE: MONITORING FOR OIL WELLS PLATFORMS THROUGH MOBILE DEVICES ABSTRACTThe expansion of the Web, the advent of new information and communication technologies and popularization of mobile devices made possible new aspects for management, interaction and information sharing. In petroliferous area, monitoring systems on mobile devices have been used for process optimization, data monitoring, reporting, alarm generation and identification of failures in real-time on oil wells platforms. However, there are few systems that identify efficiently problems due the fact they do not use techniques of real-time systems. This paper proposes the SiMoS system, a real-time system for remote monitoring oil wells platforms through mobile devices.
PALAVRAS-CHAVE: SISCI -IRRIGATION CONTROL SYSTEM THROUGH MOBILE DEVICES ABSTRACTThe advent of information technologies, the growth of Web and the new conceptions of mobility and sharing data resulted in investment in systems for mobile devices, as mobile phone. However, these relevant technologies are few used to optimization processes in the agricultural area, and the development of this work is based on this need. The SisCI project consists of a real time system for control and remote monitoring of irrigation systems through mobile phones on the Web. This work introduces new irrigation technologies in the Vale do Açu region, providing cost savings to the agricultural owners. Currently, the project is being applied at a School Farm of the Federal Institute of Technical and Higher Education, located in city of Ipanguaçu in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The main results of this work are: (i) the SisCI system with your documentation and your implementation that follow the W3C standard architecture for Web Services; (ii) three conclusion work of computer technician course; (iii) three papers and three banners for SEATEC and CONNEPI; and, (iv) courses for the community Ipanguaçu.
