O presente artigo consiste numa reflexão que parte do domínio conceitual do que se pode compreender por grupos minoritários (ou minorias) e grupos vulneráveis, no que tange a duas problemáticas: a primeira diz respeito ao que se entende por (in)tolerância, e a outra, às questões ideológicas que perpassam um discurso que tem se tornado cada vez mais comum no Brasil, o discurso de ódio, com desdobramentos na esfera comportamental que não condizem nem com os ideais democráticos nem com o respeito à dignidade humana.
Resumo: O presente artigo se apresenta como parte de um projeto maior, intitulado "Inserção, representação e construção identitária de minorias e grupos vulneráveis na mídia", que utiliza o quadro teórico-metodológico da Análise Crítica do Discurso de Norman Fairclough. O interesse recai sobre o modo como esses grupos são silenciados, mesmo quando, aparentemente, são inseridos na mídia, e sobre os conflitos e embates discursivos advindos dessa tentativa de inclusão. Neste trabalho, são analisados dois textos, um publicado na revista "Época", antes do lançamento de Clarinha, boneca com traços da Síndrome de Down, e outro publicado na "Folha de São Paulo", após seu lançamento. A análise indica o hibridismo discursivo, apontando diferentes visões sobre o grupo que a boneca representa, havendo uma tensão entre o lado social e o objetivo publicitário. Permeando esse viés, percebe-se um despreparo geral para lidar com a diversidade. Este trabalho utiliza o recurso explicativo paratexto no caso de traduções de textos sagrados, também considerados textos sensíveis dadas as peculiaridades que lhes são inerentes. Construindo um paratexto, procuramos focalizar num primeiro momento diferentes perspectivas de forma a problematizar tanto o processo tradutório quanto as diferentes versões geradas para públicos particulares. Como categoria de análise, optamos pelas escolhas lexicais, por partirmos do pressuposto de que existem implicações socioculturais e ideológicas que subjazem à semântica de cada item lexical escolhido, mostrando qual ponto de vista orientou a tradução, porque essas implicações, muitas vezes, são colocadas de maneira mais nítida na forma de um paratexto que possa conduzir o leitor. Como exemplo, produzimos um paratexto baseado numa tradução que se pretende universal para a oração do Pai Nosso segundo Mateus.
