El desarrollo psicomotor en la primera infancia repercute en la adaptación y funcionalidad del individuo, por lo que se convierte en una necesidad conocer los factores que influyen en este proceso. Por tanto, la investigación buscó analizar los avances científicos frente a los factores psicosociales incidentes en el desarrollo psicomotriz infantil de 0 a 6 años de edad, evidenciados en artículos de investigación empírica y de revisión publicados desde 2015 a 2020. El estudio se realizó mediante la técnica de mapeo, analizando 15 de 1086 documentos revisados en: Ebsco, Science Direct, Dialnet y Google Scholar. Se analizaron las características bibliométricas, la metodología y las conclusiones sobre factores psicosociales relacionados al desarrollo psicomotriz infantil. Los resultados sugieren brechas científicas y mayor incidencia de los factores sociales en el desarrollo psicomotriz infantil. Se concluye la necesidad de investigaciones predictivas y con metodología rigurosa, que comprueben la relación entre variables y las teorías que las sustentan.
