El presente estudio tiene como objetivo indagar acerca del uso de las nuevas tecnologías en la intervención social dirigida a mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas con Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA). Tras una conceptualización de la calidad de vida e inclusión social, se ha llevado a cabo una búsqueda bibliográfica, haciendo especial referencia a la realidad virtual, nuevas tecnologías y habilidades sociales. Asimismo, se ha reflexionado acerca del valor que tienen las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) en la intervención desde el Trabajo Social. El presente estudio visibiliza una serie de acciones y proyectos concretos en los que se interviene con personas con autismo a través de las TIC. Entre los principales hallazgos cabe destacar la ausencia del papel del/a trabajador/a social dentro de los proyectos analizados. Como líneas futuras de estudio e intervención, la presente investigación ofrece una serie de reflexiones relativas a la importancia del Trabajo Social en este tipo de iniciativas que combinan lo digital, comunicacional e inteligencia artificial, entre otros elementos que pueden facilitar la intervención social.
