Se realizó un relevamiento de cochinillas blandas pertenecientes al género Ceroplastes Gray, asociadas a Duranta erecta var. lemon L. en la ciudad de Paraná, Entre Ríos, Argentina. Estos insectos afectan el crecimiento de las plantas, provocando su decaimiento y disminuyendo su valor ornamental. Se realizaron preparaciones microscópicas y se identificó a la especie Ceroplastes grandis Hempel (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae) en la totalidad de las plantas relevadas. Las preparaciones microscópicas fueron depositadas en la Colección de Coccomorpha del Instituto Fundación Miguel Lillo –IFML- (Tucumán, Argentina). Se reporta por primera vez en Argentina la asociación de C. grandis y plantas de D. erecta var. lemon.
Las hormigas cortadoras constituyen un severo problema en los bosques nativos de la provincia de Entre Ríos. Trabajos previos realizados informan la presencia de los géneros Atta y Acromyrmex, que causan daños al estrato herbáceo y al follaje de las especies arbóreas. Se realizó un relevamiento de hormigueros del género Atta en el establecimiento El Carayá (Departamento Feliciano, Entre Ríos) con el objetivo de identificar las especies encontradas, describirlas y caracterizar sus nidos. Se utilizó una transecta de 300 m de longitud por 100 m de ancho. Se describieron los nidos ubicados en la misma. Se colectaron muestras del material entomológico y se efectuó la identificación de Atta vollenweideri Forel, 1983, como única especie dentro de la transecta. La misma construye nidos cónicos con un área aparente de tierra suelta sin vegetación en superficie. Los valores promedio de los nidos fueron: área de 48,72 m 2 , volumen externo de 20,15 m 3 . Se observaron 15 bocas activas y 14 caminos de acarreo de 39,47 m de longitud y 0,0674 m de ancho. Las bocas activas (38,93 %), el número de caminos de acarreo (41,53 %) y su largo (42,44 %), fueron los valores que tuvieron mayores rangos de variación.
