Este artículo propone pensar el lugar de la Educación Sexual en el sistema educativo uruguayo; desde el impulso traducido en la política educativa implementada en el “ciclo progresista” (2005-2019) (Noceto, Piñero y Rosenblat, 2020) y su freno impuesto por los recortes y la política del gobierno que inició en 2020. El “impulso y su freno” ratifican a la educación sexual como campo en disputa. Desde las constelaciones discursivas hegemónicas, la educación sexual en la escuela resulta una afrenta a la “libertad” de las familias en relación a la educación de sus hijos. Esta se dice amenazada por el avance de la “ideología degénero”, construcción atribuida a los distintos movimientos sociales que proponen la revisión del “orden natural” sobre la identidad. Se concluye que, mientras en los períodos anteriores la educación sexual (ES en adelante) aparece asociada a un paradigma médico-sanitario, con el progresismo se constituye en clave de derechos políticos asociados a la identidad y diversidad.
El artículo aborda uno de los ejes del estudio sobre una experiencia en educación media en Montevideo ubicada en un contexto de desigualdad. En esta instancia el objetivo es presentar aspectos vinculados al barrio donde dicha propuesta se encuentra y articular algunas referencias conceptuales que nos permitan problematizar la relación del espacio barrial y el espacio educativo. Particularmente revisamos aquellas perspectivas que ubican la temática del espacio urbano como objeto desde las ciencias sociales (Segura, 2006, 2015, Massey, 2004, De Certeau, 2000), para problematizar algunos sentidos desde las representaciones de los interlocutores entrevistados. La estrategia metodológica es de carácter exploratorio y cualitativo, en la línea del enfoque etnográfico (Rockwell, 2009), centrado en el registro y observación de la experiencia y entrevistas.
