OBJETIVOS: Analisar as condições de produção vocal em teleoperadores e correlacioná-las ao fato deles estarem ou não satisfeitos com a sua voz. MÉTODOS: Participaram 100 teleoperadores, atuantes em empresas de diferentes segmentos, os quais responderam a um questionário que levantou dados pessoais, saúde geral, hábitos e sintomas vocais. Os dados foram analisados estatisticamente, correlacionando os grupos que disseram estar ou não satisfeitos com a voz (Mann-Whitney - p < 5%). RESULTADOS: Dentre os entrevistados, 80% estão satisfeitos com a sua voz. Quanto aos hábitos, os mais relatados são: falar muito (69%), comer chocolate (65%), tomar café (60%); entre as queixas mais mencionadas estão: garganta seca (53%), pigarro (33%), cansaço ao falar (31%). Quando perguntados sobre possíveis causas desses sintomas mencionam: uso intenso da voz (51%), presença do ar condicionado (57%), ambiente frio/quente demais (40%). Na comparação entre os grupos de teleoperadores satisfeitos e insatisfeitos com a voz, mostraram-se significantes a favor dos insatisfeitos: ter maior carga horária semanal (p=0,032); presença de distúrbios de vias aéreas como rinite (p=0,009) e sinusite (p=0,014); o hábito de falar muito (p=0,024); sintomas como cansaço ao falar (p=0,010), ardor na garganta (p=0,044), falhas na voz (p=0,002); relacionamento ruim (p=0,041) e estresse no trabalho (p=0,001). CONCLUSÃO: Fatores decorrentes de alterações relacionadas à saúde física dos teleoperadores e fatores organizacionais da empresa mostraram-se responsáveis por justificar a presença de sintomas vocais e, conseqüentemente, insatisfação com a própria voz em contexto de trabalho.
