O cooperativismo de crédito é representado por instituições financeiras com características particulares, e por esse motivo possui modelos de avaliação de desempenho específicos. Esse estudo utilizou-se de dois sistemas de análise de indicadores: o sistema de monitoramento PEARLS e o sistema de Análise da Produtividade do Negócio (APN), e teve como objetivo analisar comparativamente a estrutura desses dois sistemas de avaliação de desempenho para cooperativas de crédito. De forma empírica, para a comparação dos modelos, foram aplicados dados reais de uma cooperativa de crédito, a Sicoob Credichapada. Os resultados indicam que há similaridade entre os dois modelos de avaliação de desempenho, mas que a APN possui uma maior gama de indicadores e de informações, indicando informações sobre taxas, dados cadastrais e análise comparativa entre cooperativas do mesmo tipo ou mesma central. Assim, sugere-se que sejam adicionados indicadores de Efetiva Estrutura Financeira do sistema PEARLS à avaliação feita pela APN, a fim de se avaliar o desempenho de forma ampla. A aplicação empírica confirma a avaliação teórica e sinaliza que uma análise utilizando esses dois sistemas, traz uma análise mais completa sobre o desempenho da cooperativa, e fornece direcionamentos sobre as áreas de avaliação que podem demandar uma maior atenção da gestão. Dentre as contribuições desse artigo, pode-se destacar a orientação crítica sobre a análise do desempenho de cooperativas de crédito, sugerindo uma adaptação a sistemas de avaliação já existentes.
O cooperativismo de crédito brasileiro vem apresentando um expressivo crescimento, e diante disso torna-se cada vez mais importante avaliar o desempenho econômico-financeiro dessas cooperativas. Nesse cenário destaca-se a Sicoob Credichapada, localizada em Minas Gerais, que é reconhecida pelos seus impactos na localidade onde atua, devido à execução de diversos programas sociais. O presente estudo teve como objetivo comparar os modelos de avaliação de desempenho CAMEL e PEARLS, aplicando-os simultaneamente aos balancetes mensais da Credichapada no período entre agosto de 2011 e maio de 2019. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que a cooperativa apresenta desempenho satisfatório para quase todo o período, apesar de um aumento do risco da carteira de crédito. Com relação à comparação entre os modelos, constatou-se que o sistema PEARLS aborda uma avaliação econômico-financeira minuciosa dentre as várias vertentes do sistema, e o CAMEL possui uma análise similar, porém sucinta e menos detalhada.
