In contemporary Quebec writing, suggests Christl Verduyn, the question of ethics is imbricated with that of ethnicity. Taking Regine Robin's novel La Quebecoite as a point of departure, Verduyn explores various expressions of cultural plurality. Such plurality, she shows, effectively disrupts rigid, morality-based understandings of ethics by honouring diverse histories, values and ways of living.
