Le sanctuaire de La Peyrouse est situé sur la commune de Saint-Félix-de-Villadeix en Dordogne. Il a été découvert en 2019 lors d'une campagne extensive de prospection magnétique, réalisée sur un site d'habitat protohistorique et antique. De nouvelles prospections géophysiques ciblées, combinant méthodes magnétique et électrique, ont été menées dans le cadre d'une thèse intégrée au projet RAPSODIE (Reconnaissance des Agglomérations Protohistoriques du Sud-Ouest : Développement, Imagerie, Environnement). Les résultats obtenus ont permis de documenter davantage ce bâtiment, en livrant son plan et une première vision verticale des vestiges conservés grâce à une section électrique transversale. Il s'agit d'un enclos fossoyé quadrangulaire d'environ 25 m de côté, ouvert à l'est, délimitant un espace interne aménagé d'environ 700 m². En 2020, une fouille archéologique a complété cette approche non destructive en identifiant précisément la source des anomalies magnétiques et électriques. La confrontation des données géophysiques et archéologiques permet ainsi d'appréhender le premier sanctuaire attesté du territoire des Pétrocores, au coeur d'une agglomération ouverte du III e s. av. J.-C., un type d'habitat groupé précoce encore mal connu en Europe celtique.
Résumé. — Un habitat de plein air protohistorique a été découvert en 1966 à Chalucet, sur la commune de Saint- Jean-Ligoure, en Haute-Vienne. Cet habitat a livré, sur une surface restreinte, une quantité importante de bracelets en lignite dont beaucoup sont ornés. Des pièces à divers stades de fabrication ont été découvertes, permettant une étude intéressante sur des bracelets très originaux. Ces bracelets sont attribuables à la phase tardive du premier Age du Fer, soit dans la fin du VIe et début du Ve siècle avant J.-C.
L'habitat protohistorique de Chalucet est situé à environ 20 kilomètres au sud de Limoges, à la confluence de la Briance et de la Ligoure. C'est un habitat de hauteur apparemment non fortifié. Les travaux menés sur le site depuis 1966, date de sa découverte, ont permis de mettre en évidence plusieurs phases d'occupation : du Néolithique Final, du Bronze Final III b (Transition Bronze/ Fer), du Premier Age du Fer et des débuts du Deuxième Age du Fer.
Le sondage n° 3 nous a permis de mettre au jour et de fouiller une fosse très irrégulière qui a été remblayée au Premier Age du Fer. Cette fosse s'est avérée, comme la première fosse fouillée en 1968 à Chalucet, une petite carrière d'extraction d'argile. Elle contenait un remblai déposé en une phase unique et qui était très riche, constitué surtout par un mobilier céramique (plusieurs milliers de tessons). Ce mobilier est attribuable aux deux premières phases d'occupation (Bronze Final III b et Premier Age du Fer). La céramique de cette dernière période est représentée surtout par la céramique à décor peint au graphite ; ce qui a permis de compléter l'étude typologique des formes de ce type de poterie dont Chalucet est un grand centre de fabrication dans le Sud-Limousin. Il apparaît en effet que cette céramique à décor peint au graphite de la deuxième moitié du VI' et de la première moitié du e siècle avant notre ère, est fortement influencée, quand elle n'est pas diffusée, par l'importante production de Chalucet.
Cet article fait partie d'un projet de bibliographie régionale couvrant en gros la région du Centre-Ouest. Il n'est pas question de donner ici un inventaire exhaustif de la bibliographie du département de la Dordogne, mais au contraire une bibliographie choisie et commentée, concernant la période allant du Bronze final III au IIe Age du Fer.
