Accessing information through wireless devices is becoming more and more popular. When the size of the accessed information is large, a great amount of access latency is incurred while a mobile user (MU) migrates across cells. This paper investigates this problem and proposes an effective way of delivering such data to the MU in ubiquitous computing systems. A cell-encoding scheme is proposed for the support of this efficient data delivery. The method is carefully evaluated on its feasibility and efficiency.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
