It was found that test piece heated rapidly by 3 kW microwave for 5 minutes satisfies the targeted temperature and the percentage of moisture content, and the highest rate of weight increase is obtained in case of 120 minute immersion in the mixture of phosphates and heterocyclic compounds, from the result of such analysis as: kiln drying schedule, flame retardent by flammability test, insect
By implementing an analysis on the liquid flame proof agent infiltration of microwave-heated wood under soaking conditions (room temperature soaking, heat soaking), its correlation with wood temperature, and the structure of wood and permeating components after soaking in flame proof agent, which was carried out as basic research in order to improve the fire resistance performance of the wood itself, it is found that the infiltration increases as the microwave heating time increases, while for heat soaking, it is found that high infiltration as well as the stable permeability of flame proof agent is achievable. Also, when the wood temperature is more than 80℃, the infiltration by the flame proof agent increased, and a very even infiltration of flame proof agent was observed, which implies that the liquid flame proof agent has a dependency on temperature change of the wood as a condition to penetrate into the wood. As a result of fine structure analysis, the flame proof agent transfer between cells through pits was considered as a cause to increase the infiltration of flame proof agent, and it is also shown that for heat soaking among the permeating component analysis, as the crystallized flame proof agent around the heartwood and sapwood inner pits increases, the flame proof agent can penetrate into the the heartwood part.
The analysis of shape before and after heating, Surface moisture content, Moisture weight change and surface heat distribution by fixed type microwave heating in forms of flat veneer and veneer roll of Korean pine, pitch pine, larch and yellow poplar was conducted. The results were as follows: In case of flat veneer, the quality after microwave heating was comparatively good, but it was somewhat warped. These phenomena may be due to transformation by nonuniform drying stress and stronger effect of local irradiation on the veneers when heating veneer owing to the characteristics of fixed type microwave equipment. In case of the features of roll-shaped veneer heated by microwave, the quality
To manufacture laminated wood with improved mechanical properties by providing uniform adhesiveness, the adhesive was applied and the plate adhesive was laminated on the wood surface. Then, after laminating the wood on the top part of the adhesivebond, it was heated and dried while the adhesive was stiffened using microwaves, and the test piece was manufactured by compressing it with the press machine for thirty minutes. The temperature and the water content were examined according to the heating time of the wood heated with the microwave, and testing was conducted on the shear strength and flexural strength of the wood. In addition, the microstructure of the adhesive bond between the wood was recorded to confirm the penetrabilityinto the wood structure for the adhesive. After the test was conducted, it was found that the test piece manufactured with wood that has its water content leveled with the microwave heating showed improved shear strength and bending strength compared to the standard test piece. With regard to adhesives, liquefied polyvinyl acetate resin and plate's PVB resin were found to have superior adhesive strength. Also, after filming the cellular microstructure, it was found that when the laminated wood is heated with microwaves, the infiltration of the adhesive into the inside of the wood becomes easy, which makes it effective for improving adhesiveness.
In this study, we present a wideband image synthesis technique for day and night object identification. To synthesize the visible and near-infrared images, a base component and a detailed component are first decomposed using a bilateral filter, and the detailed component is synthesized using a local variance map. In addition, considering the difference in the near-infrared image characteristics between daytime and nighttime, the base components are synthesized using a luminance saturation region map and depth and penetration map using a joint bilateral filter. The proposed method overcomes the partial over- or under-exposure caused by sunlight and infrared auxiliary light, which is experienced variously in wideband imaging, and improves the identification of objects in various indoor and outdoor images compared with that achieved by existing methods by emphasizing detailed components.
