Throughout history, there has been the continuing struggle of the deaf as they try to enter the world of work and ascend professionally. One perspective that seems to help in this issue is Law N° 8.213/1991, which makes it mandatory for companies with more than one hundred employees to hire People with Disabilities (PCD's) in their collaborative framework. In order to find out what is the perspective of deaf people regarding the possibilities of growth, opportunities and professional challenges in their current job in the cities of Santa Rosa and Horizontina/RS? relation to the opportunities, possibilities of growth, ascent, and the challenges experienced in the organizational context in which they currently work. As a methodological procedure, it was used an applied qualitative and descriptive research, through a non-probabilistic accessibility sampling, using a structured questionnaire with 30 deaf participants. The survey was attended by a predominantly male audience, about 80% of participants; where most have completed high school; receive up to 2 monthly minimum wages; currently working in operational positions, specifically in the metal-mechanic segment. In general, they consider that they have the same promotion and growth conditions as other employees, but they believe that their companies still need to adapt to their PCD condition.
