A pesquisa propõe o desenho de um território no qual educação, educação ambiental e arte estejam presentes. A intenção é seguir os rastros deixados por Michel Foucault, desarrumando as linhas que mantém separadas natureza e cultura. Para tanto foram analisados materiais provenientes de exposições artísticas que apresentam questões caras à educação ambiental, que transbordam ditos e visibilidades sobre o meio ambiente, sobre outras formas de habitar o planeta e de lidar com as incertezas ligadas as crises ambientais. Propostas curatoriais, obras, catálogos e materiais educativos lançados em razão da 9ª edição da Bienal do Mercosul/Porto Alegre, realizada em 2013 e da 32ª Bienal de São Paulo de 2016, foram pensados como elementos que fazem parte de processos de produção de subjetividades e que aparecem carregados de enunciações e de visibilidades sobre a natureza e sobre as formas como aprendemos a ver e a agir diante dos atuais dilemas ambientais. Interessa pensar de que forma exposições de arte contemporânea que discutem questões que atravessam a educação ambiental vem educando para natureza.
O presente texto parte de experiências próprias vividas de resultados positivos constatados por disciplinas teórico-prático e oficinas do ensino de História da Arte que ensinam o conteúdo/fundamento teórico juntamente com a parte prática. A História da Arte é passada na maioria das escolas e até mesmo em universidades de forma tradicional, tendendo a desestimular o interesse e importância desse aprendizado, que acaba sendo visto por muitos como cansativo e irrelevante. Entretanto, quando a abordagem do ensino teórico é agregado diretamente com o ensino prático, o fascínio por este estudo é reconhecido como tal, havendo assim, uma maior relevância e aumento do empenho dos alunos com o aprendizado. Portanto, essa pesquisa traz uma reflexão sobre a docência de História da Arte realizada na maior parte das universidades do Brasil e instiga a exploração da parte prática da arte como dependente ao ensino teórico.
O trabalho tem por objetivo anunciar e refletir a respeito da relação do grupo de estudos “História e Teoria das Imagens: Diálogos entre Arte e Natureza”, constituído por alunos da licenciatura e bacharelado de Artes Visuais da Universidade Federal de Pelotas, com a História da Arte. Relata os desenvolvimentos do grupo, que com o objetivo de compreender as relações entre indivíduo, arte e natureza, e refletir questões ambientais, inicia estudos desde as alterações na pintura de gênero, para o surgimento da pintura de paisagem na arte holandesa, refletindo também a preocupação de artistas do século XIX, como Felix Taunay, até as reflexões a respeito da importância da temática da 32ª Bienal de São Paulo para os estudos do grupo. Com o intuito de aprofundar e esclarecer a compreensão do transito dinâmico do grupo na utilização da História da Arte é feita uma metáfora com a produção artística do pintor Paulo Pasta.
