Com o objetivo de fornecer informações sobre o câncer do colo do útero (CCU), usando canais de comunicação presentes nos smartphones, o estudo apresentado neste artigo caracterizou o padrão de uso desses canais e a preferência de recebimento de informações de 395 mulheres, foco do programa de rastreio do CCU do município de Maringá (PR). Entre essas mulheres, 89% possuem celulares e 65% com acesso à internet. Entre as entrevistadas que utilizam a internet, 46% usam para acessar redes sociais, 45% para fazer pesquisas e 33% para ler notícias. Entre as que utilizam as redes sociais, 55% têm acesso ao Facebook e 56% ao WhatsApp. A porcentagem das que preferem receber informações por meio de panfletos é de 52% e, para 48% delas, os médicos são os profissionais mais indicados para darem as informações. Embora haja significativa utilização dos canais de comunicação presentes nos smartphones, muitas mulheres ainda preferem receber informações sobre o CCU através dos métodos tradicionais de educação em saúde.Palavras-chave: Promoção da saúde. Este estudo teve como objetivo comparar o Método Mãe Canguru com o cuidado convencional dos recém-nascidos de baixo peso em uma Revisão Sistematizada PRISMA. De maio a junho de 2015, pesquisou-se na literatura artigos que empregavam o Método Mãe Canguru, para comparar com outros métodos de cuidado para recém-nascidos de baixo peso. Encontrou-se 246 artigos publicados na Cochrane Library. Os artigos passaram por uma sequência de triagem resultando em 13 artigos incluídos no presente estudo. Os resultados da aplicação do Método Mãe Canguru demonstram que não há prejuízo para o recém-nascido de baixo peso, e os resultados foram similares ou com vantagens para o Método Mãe Canguru. O presente estudo sugere que o Método Mãe Canguru auxilia positivamente no desenvolvimento do recém-nascido de baixo peso, com maior ganho de peso, auxiliando a formação do vínculo afetivo mãe-filho, aumentando adesão ao aleitamento materno, auxiliando na redução de custos hospitalares e do período de internação.
O estudo buscou analisar a possibilidade da incorporação dos aparelhos celulares nas estratégias de educação em saúde relacionada ao câncer de mama de mulheres atendidas pelas equipes da Estratégia de Saúde da Família. Estudo descritivo realizado com mulheres com idade igual ou superior a 40 anos residentes em Maringá, Paraná, em 2016. Os dados foram coletados durante visita domiciliar por meio da aplicação de questionário semiestruturado composto de questões relativas ao perfil de uso de aparelhos celulares e internet, bem como do acesso a informações sobre saúde. Pesquisou-se 259 mulheres, das quais 95,75% declarou utilizar aparelhos celulares; 67,18% utiliza há mais de três anos; 69,11% utiliza para realizar ligações telefônicas e 28,96% utiliza para acessar internet. Quanto ao uso de internet, 45,17% afirmou utilizar internet paga, 33,59% utilizam para pesquisar; 31,27% para acessar redes sociais e 8,11% para acessar portais do governo. Para receber informação sobre saúde, 50,19% prefere panfletos; 40,93% prefere aparelhos celulares e 25,48% prefere palestras. A incorporação dos aparelhos celulares nas estratégias de educação em saúde direcionada ao câncer de mama mostra-se viável, porém, faz-se necessário considerar limitações de usabilidade e acesso à internet.
