ABSTRACT In Northeast Brazil, whose predominant vegetation is Caatinga, many native or exotic plants are potentially rich in healing properties, but little explored yet by science. The work was conducted during August 2011 to June 2012, where bacterial samples were collected from the teats of animals through sterile swabs. Once isolated and properly identified, the microorganisms were subjected to antibiograms with alternative means, positive and negative controls through the well agar diffusion technique. The objective of the work was to evaluate the action of extracts of Favela (Cnidoscolus phyllacanthus), Catingueira (Caesalpinia pyramidalis) and Neem (Azadiracta indica) on bacteria isolated from teats of goats in the settlement Cordão de Sombra in the Municipality of Mossoró-RN.
Presença de Leishmania spp. na conjuntiva de um cão não reativo para testes parasitológicos em linfonodos e medula óssea -relato de casoPresence of Leishmania spp. in the conjunctive of a nonreactive dog for parasitological tests in lymphonod and bone marrow -case report A B S T R A C TThe objective of this work was to report the detection of amastigote forms of Leishmania spp.through conjunctival cytology in a non-positive dog for parasitological tests in bone marrow, popliteal lymph nodes and right and left superficial cervicals. A female dog a was attended to with a history of skin problems and dry cough was seen five years ago. After clinical evaluation were performed a cytology of bone marrow, popliteal lymph nodes and superficial cervical, being these negative for parasites. Therefore, new cytological samples were collected in the right and left palpebral conjunctival regions, with the presence of amastigotes of Leishmania spp. It is still unclear to scholars how the amastigote forms of this parasite reach into the ocular tissues, although some of them believe that the parasites are carried by the antigen-presenting cells. It was concluded that conjunctival cytology was a complementary method of diagnosis of leishmaniasis in a non-reactive dog for direct parasitological examination in the medullary and lymph node sites. . ABSTRACT Use of the extract of Nim (Azadirachta indica) and propolis in isolated microrganims from dogs (Canis familiares) with otitis: The canine otitis is a important disease in the practical veterinary medicine; in this manner, the knowledge of the agent(s) and its profiles of susceptibility, in the intention of establishing a directed and efficient treatment and preventing the dissemination of multiresistant bacteria). 29 samples with sterile swabs had been collected, proceeding from dogs of race, generus, age that presented clinical signals of otitis, in the Hospital Veterinarian of the UFERSA and in the clinics of the City of Mossoró- RN in the period of August 2009 until June 2010. Isolated and identified, the microorganisms had been made the antibiogramas with conventional antibiotics and the alternative ways (Nim extract and propolis) here evaluated, through the technique of diffusion in Agar for the paper record. Considering the scarcity of referring data to the canine otitis to the treatment proceeding from natural resources in the Northeast region of the Country, this date present the resulted research for alternative ways to the treatment of the otitis with extract of Nim (Azadirachta indica) and propolis.
The study developed from the question: which practices, rules and methods would be representative of the school culture institutionalized in schools from the southeast of Goiás, in the first half of the 20th century? The presence of practices, norms and methods investigated in three school institutions, whose sample included two confessional schools and a federal agricultural school, through the consultation of sources from the school archives, sought distinct aspects of the internal school culture. In the methodological path, dedicated to locate the documents, characterize the sources by affinity and similarity, in order to obtain the variables that would corroborate in the interpretation of the traces of the marks of the school culture in the institutions, with focus on the practices, rules and methods registered in the official documents, referenced in authors and works of the branch of the history of school institutions. The results show the existence of practices, norms and methods, observing similarities and singularities, both in the format and in the didactic and pedagogical organization of the institutions: the educational purposes and objectives, the emphasis on the disciplining of internal conduct (regulations, norms, teaching programs, schedules, calendars); the interfaces of the school with local and regional society; the prescription of conduct and routines; the cult of symbols and internal rituals; the manifestations of obedience, disciplining and transgression; the levels of status and the representative distinctions of schooling.
