La población civil es la principal víctima de la crisis humanitaria causada por el conflicto armado que se vive en Colombia desde hace más de 50 años. En este artículo de revisión, se abordarán temas referentes a salud y dolor en este y otros contextos. Metodológicamente, se toman en cuenta datos estadísticos, así como referentes legales, académicos y sociales. Todo esto se lleva a cabo con el propósito de construir un marco de referencia desde el cual se reconozca la pertinencia de la investigación en el campo y se procure que las futuras investigaciones identifiquen la influencia de factores psicosociales en el desarrollo y evolución del estado de ‘salud’ y ‘enfermedad’ de las víctimas del conflicto armado en Colombia.
Asumir el rol de ser cuidador familiar, específicamente de un adulto mayor con TNC mayor tipo Alzheimer, deriva en una serie de transiciones (Carreño-Moreno y Chaparro- Díaz, 2016) y cambios biopsicosociales que afectan su calidad de vida y pueden detonar efectos negativos y problemáticas complejas en la vida del cuidador (Cerquera, y Galvis, 2014; Rogero-García, 2010). Lo anterior, sumado a una cantidad sobredimensionada de demandas atencionales por parte del paciente, posicionan a la persona que asume el cuidado como altamente vulnerable ante una “situación estresante” que sobrepasa la propia capacidad física y mental, lo cual puede producir la llamada sobrecarga (Zambrano y Ceballos, 2007) y, tal como lo afirman Aravena et al. (2016) esto impacta significativamente en la calidad de vida porque se trata de una de las variables principales para considerar dentro de las intervenciones psicosociales en cuidadores informales (Moniz- Cook et al., 2008). De esta manera se constituyen las dos principales variables que buscan ser impactadas a través del “Programa multicomponente con intervención transdisciplinar para cuidadores informales de pacientes con trastorno neurocognitivo mayor tipo Alzheimer”: la sobrecarga y la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud (CVRS).
