Química e SociedadeA seção "Química e Sociedade" apresenta artigos que focalizam diferentes inter-relações entre Ciência e sociedade, procurando analisar o potencial e as limitações da Ciência na tentativa de compreender e solucionar problemas sociais.
Este trabalho apresenta os processos de planejamento, montagem e mediação da exposição que integraram ensino, pesquisa e extensão, tendo como foco de divulgação científica a vida e a obra de Levi. Apresentamos alguns elementos sobre divulgação científica e a indissociabilidade ensino-pesquisa-extensão; trazemos aspectos sobre a rica e plural experiência de Levi; descrevemos as ações indissociadas de ensino, de pesquisa e, principalmente, de extensão; por fim, discutimos alguns resultados dessa ação integradora e extensionista. Concluímos que o hibridismo de Levi inspirou uma efetiva integração entre Ciência, Literatura e Direitos Humanos, bem como uniu e articulou atividades de ensino, pesquisa e extensão.
O relato de experiência descrito está inserido na discussão e defesa da necessidade de ampliação dos espaços formativos envolvidos no estágio curricular supervisionado. Os museus de ciências apresentam potencialidade de difundir conhecimentos não fragmentados e são peças importantes para uma divulgação científica com compromisso social. Tivemos como objetivo oferecer a futuros professores uma atuação crítica e reflexiva sobre as possibilidades de ações educativas para o ensino de Química em museus de ciências e construir uma exposição com base na vida e na obra do químico e escritor Primo Levi. O trabalho foi realizado no contexto da disciplina de Estágio Curricular Supervisionado para o curso de licenciatura em Química, com abordagem em três eixos: i) teórico: estudos sobre a interface entre a educação, educação museal e educação em ciências; ii) observacional: visita a quatro museus de ciências; e, iii) prático: planejamento, montagem e execução da exposição a partir da seleção de conteúdos e transposição museográfica da obra híbrida e humanística de Levi. Como principais resultados da experiência formativa, destacamos: a construção de uma proposta de museu e de sua função social; a valorização dos espaços museais; a importância da preparação docente para atuar e trabalhar com esses espaços; os desafios do processo de construção de uma exposição; o reconhecimento da relação existente entre ciência e literatura.
A literatura é pouco presente na Educação em Ciências, principalmente, nos contextos dos estágios curriculares das licenciaturas. Apostamos na perspectiva da formação omnilateral, trazida pela Pedagogia Histórico-Crítica, e na obra A Tabela Periódica de Primo Levi, um químico e escritor que foi fruto dessa formação, para promover esse mesmo modelo formativo em duas experiências de estágio na Licenciatura em Química. A primeira aconteceu em um estágio em uma escola que possibilitou às estagiárias-orientadoras desenvolver pesquisas com alunos do Ensino Médio que se articulam de forma interdisciplinar; a segunda, em um estágio supervisionado que permitiu aos estágiários conhecer espaços não-formais que divulgam a química e construir uma exposição articulando química, arte, filosofia e direitos humanos. Entendemos que as experiências de formação omnilateral aqui relatadas contribuem para ampliar a reflexão a respeito das aprendizagens possibilitadas e potencializadas no âmbito da formação inicial de professores de química.
O presente artigo, de natureza teórico-conceitual, busca interpretar elementos da concepção de ciência nos principais filósofos da ciência adotados por nossa área de pesquisa em disciplinas, eventos e debates sobre história e filosofia da ciência. São eles: Comte, Popper, Lakatos, Kuhn, Bachelard e Latour. Nossa análise tem esteio em categorias do materialismo histórico-dialético. Elegemos um acervo composto pelas principais obras dos filósofos, artigos de pesquisadores da área de Educação em Ciências que os apresentam e sintetizam suas ideias e trabalhos críticos de marxistas sobre os filósofos. Expomos nossas análises em duas partes: a primeira, de natureza ontológica, traz discussões sobre concepções de realidade; a segunda, de natureza epistemológica, aborda questões sobre o modo como se conhece a realidade. Quanto ao aspecto ontológico, as ideias são marcadas por diferentes tipos de idealismo, que são resultado da primazia da lógica formal. Nas discussões epistemológicas, identificamos a supervalo-rização do sujeito no reflexo científico, em que o universal é entendido como produto da consciência cognoscente e não uma categoria objetiva do real. Pautados no materialismo histórico-dialético, defendemos que a realidade existe apesar de nossa consciência, que é possível conhecê-la, que a ciência configura-se como uma conquista do gênero humano e que isso corrobora sua presença na educação escolar.
