RESUMOEste trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de se avaliar os efeitos de manejos de fertirrigação e níveis de nitrogênio e potássio sobre o crescimento e a produção de pimentão cultivado em ambiente protegido. Utilizou-se o delineamento em blocos casualizados com 18 tratamentos e quatro repetições. Os tratamentos resultaram da combinação de três manejos da fertirrigação e com seis doses de nitrogênio e potássio. Foram realizadas seis colheitas e, nelas, avaliações quanto ao número, massa média e produção de frutos além de indicadores de crescimento (área foliar, altura e acúmulo de fitomassa). Os resultados obtidos demonstram que o crescimento e o rendimento do pimentão dependem, além das doses de N e K, do manejo de fertirrigação adotado. O manejo da fertirrigação a partir do monitoramento da concentração de íons de N e K com auxílio dos extratores de solução, ou da condutividade elétrica da solução do solo é mais eficiente que o manejo tradicional. O monitoramento da solução do solo deve ser realizado utilizando-se, como referência, as concentrações variando de 200 e 250% de N e K correspondentes à recomendação para a cultura do pimentão em sistema hidropônico. The experimental design was in a completely randomized block, with 18 treatments and four replications. Treatments resulted from the combination of three fertigation managements and six nitrogen and potassium doses. There were six harvests, when evaluations were made of fruit number, mean mass and yield, as well as of growth indicators (leaf area, plant height and dry mass). Results showed that, besides the N and K doses, bell pepper growth and yield also depend on the management of fertigation used. Fertigation managements based on concentration of N and K ions using solution extractors, and monitoring of soil electrical conductivity were better than the usual management. Soil solution monitoring must take as reference N and K concentrations between 200 and 250% of recommendation for bell pepper production in hydroponic system.

RESUMOAvaliou-se o efeito da aplicação em excesso de fertilizantes via irrigação em solos com diferentes níveis de salinidade, sobre as variáveis produtivas do tomateiro em ambiente protegido localizado no Departamento de Engenharia de Biossistemas da ESALQ/USP, Piracicaba-SP. O delineamento estatístico foi o em blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 6x2 com quatro repetições, em que os fatores consistiram em seis níveis iniciais de salinidade do solo (S 1 = 1,62; S 2 = 2,40; S 3 = 2,98; S 4 = 3,48; S 5 = 4,63 e S 6 = 5,82 dS m -1 ) e em dois manejos da fertirrigação (M 1 -Adubos aplicados em fertirrigação obedecendo à curva de absorção de nutrientes da cultura e M 2 -Cultivo sem aplicação de fertilizantes via água de irrigação). As variáveis fitomassa fresca de frutos e número de frutos foram afetadas estatisticamente, tanto pelo manejo quanto pela salinidade do solo com reduções de 38,82 e 27,31 % para o manejo M 1 . A interação entre (salinidade x manejo) e a salinidade isolada influenciou significativamente os componentes estudados, exceto para fitomassa seca do caule e raiz na interação. O manejo M 1 foi superior em todos os componentes de produção estudados quando comparado ao manejo M 2 . O limiar para a cultivar foi superior ao encontrado na literatura. The experimental design was randomized blocks, in a factorial scheme 6 x 2 with four replications, the factors consisted in six levels of initial soil salinity (S 1 = 1.62, S 2 = 2.40, S 3 = 2.98, S 4 = 3.48, S 5 = 4.63 and S 6 = 5.82 dS m -1 ) and two fertigation managements (M 1 -Fertilizer applied in fertigation obeying the nutrient absorption curve of crop, and M 2 -Cultivation without application of fertilizers through irrigation water). The variables fresh biomass of fruit and number of fruits were statistically affected by both factors-types of management and salinity levels with reductions of 38.82 and 27.31% for the M 1 management. The interaction between salinity x management and salinity isolated significantly influenced components studied, except dry biomass of stem and root for interaction. The management M 1 performed better for all yield components studied when compared to M 2 management. The threshold for the cultivar was higher than that found in the literature.

A cultura do milho-pipoca pode ser uma alternativa para o pequeno produtor nordestino, principalmente por apresentar preço de mercado diferenciado. O experimento foi conduzido no Departamento de Ciências Ambientais da UFERSA, objetivando avaliar o desenvolvimento inicial do milho-pipoca, em casa de vegetação, irrigado com diferentes níveis de salinidade da água de irrigação (0,5; 2,13; 2,94; 3,5 e 5,0 dS m -1 ). O delineamento experimental foi o inteiramente casualizado, com três repetições. As plantas foram coletadas aos 40 dias após semeadura, ocasião em que foram avaliados: o diâmetro do colmo, altura, número de folhas, área foliar, matéria seca da parte aérea e da raiz. Todos os parâmetros fisiológicos avaliados foram afetados pela salinidade, sendo o efeito mais expressivo no diâmetro do colmo. A trial was carried in a greenhouse at the Environmental Sciences Department of Federal Rural University of the Semiarid, in Mossoró, RN, Brazil, to evaluate initial growth of popcorn irrigated with different levels of saline water (0.5; 2.3; 3.3; 4.3, and 5.0 dS m -1 ). Experimental design was entirely randomized with three replicates. Plants were harvested forty days after seeding, when the following characteristics were evaluated: stem diameter, plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, shoot and root dry matter. All parameters evaluated were influenced by salinity, with stem diameter having the more expressive effect.

Realizou-se este trabalho visando definir a necessidade nutricional de nitrogênio, fósforo e potássio de melão e melancia, em função da produtividade esperada, a partir de dados médios citados na literatura, e validá-los com dados obtidos em experimentos com melão e melancia, realizados no Agropolo Assu/Mossoró. O experimento com melão seguiu o delineamento em blocos ao acaso, com três repetições, no esquema fatorial 3 x 3 + 3, que constou da combinação de três doses de N (N1 = 42, N2 = 84 e N3 = 126 kg ha-1) e de K (K1 = 106, K2 = 212 e K3 = 322 kg ha-1), mais três tratamentos adicionais (N0K0, N0K2 e N2K0), sendo que N0 e K0 não receberam N nem K. O experimento com melancia seguiu o mesmo delineamento experimental, modificando as doses de N (N1 = 45, N2 = 91 e N3 = 136 kg ha-1) e de K (K1 = 78, K2 = 156 e K3 = 234 kg ha-1), havendo dois tratamentos adicionais (N0K2 e N2K0). O modelo que melhor se ajustou, tanto para a melancia como para o melão, seguiu a relação produtividade (kg planta-1) x nutrientes exportados (g planta-1). Os índices de concordância observados entre os valores estimados pelo modelo de absorção total de N e K e valores obtidos experimentalmente, são considerados aceitáveis, tanto para melancia como para melão.

Soil water availability is the main cause of reduced productivity, and the early development period most sensitive to water deficit. This study aimed to evaluate the drought resistance of the varieties of sugar-cane RB867515 and SP81-3250 during the early development using different levels of water deficit on four soil depths. The experiment was conducted at the Department of Biosystems at Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz" (ESALQ/USP) in a greenhouse in soil classified as Oxisol, sandy loam texture (Series "Sertãozinho"). Once exhausted the level of available water in the soil, the dry strength of the studied strains are relatively low. Water balance with values less than -13 mm cause a significant decrease in the final population of plants, regardless of the variety, and values below -35 mm, leads to the death of all plants.KEYWORDS: irrigation, plant population, Saccharum spp., drought tolerance. Fertigation can be managed using fixed fertilizer doses or by assessing the ionic concentration of soil solution throughout the growing period. This work studied how different fertigation management systems affected sweet pepper yield and quality. The experiment was carried out in greenhouse, in pots. Fertigation was managed according to the crop uptake rate (M 1 ) or by monitoring either the electrical conductivity (M 2 ) or the N and K concentration (M 3 ) in the soil solution. Fertigation management was combined with six N and K doses (0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 300% of the recommended dose for sweet pepper in the region), in complete blocks at random, with four replications, and treatments in 3x6 factorial. Dry matter accumulation, yield and fruit grading were evaluated. Fertigation managed by means of monitoring the soil solution improved the vegetative growth in up to 25% and increased yield in up to 20% when compared to management according to the uptake rate. Highest fruit yields in M 1 , M 2 and M 3 were achieved with N and K levels corresponding to 127.6% (1.33 kg/plant), 222.5% (1.60 kg/plant) and 215% (1.48 kg/plant), respectively. N and K can be supplied successfully to sweet peppers using electrical conductivity or concentration of ions in the soil solution to manage fertigation. These management systems resulted in high quality fruits and up to 47% increase in N and K use efficiency. RESUMOAumento da produtividade e qualidade do pimentão pelo manejo da fertirrigação O manejo da fertirrigação pode ser realizado com doses fixas de fertilizantes ou por meio da avaliação da concentração iônica na solução do solo ao longo do período de cultivo. Objetivou-se avaliar diferentes formas de manejo de fertirrigação na cultura do pimentão, com ênfase para a produção e qualidade de frutos. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação e as plantas foram cultivadas em vasos. Testaram-se três formas de manejo de fertirrigação (M 1 ) realizado de acordo com a marcha de absorção da cultura, (M 2 ) por meio do monitoramento da condutividade elétrica da solução do solo e (M 3 ) por meio do monitoramento da concentração de N e K. Utilizaram-se seis doses de N e K (0, 50, 100, 150, 200 e 300% da dose recomendada para a cultura) em delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados, com esquema fatorial 3x6 e quatro repetições. Avaliou-se o acúmulo de matéria seca, produção e a classificação de frutos. As formas de manejo de fertirrigação com monitoramento da solução do solo (M 2 e M 3 ) proporcionam desenvolvimento vegetativo até 25% maior, e acréscimo de produtividade de até 20% quando comparados com o manejo que segue a marcha de absorção (M 1 ).
