O Domínio Canindé, localizado na porção norte do Sistema Orogênico Sergipano, é composto por rochas metavulcânicas e metassedimentares do Complexo Canindé, sendo estas intrudidas pelo corpo gabroico denominado Complexo Gabroico Canindé. A ocorrência de mineralizações sulfetadas de Cu-Ni nos gabros já foi documentada anteriormente e será detalhada neste trabalho no que se refere à sua mineralogia e mineraloquímica, através de utilização microscopia óptica de transmissão e reflexão, de microssonda eletrônica e microscopia eletrônica de varredura. Análises por estes métodos microanalíticos permitiram identificar, em amostras coletadas nos afloramentos do Complexo Gabroico Canindé, a presença de pirita, calcopirita, pirrotita, pentlandita, esfalerita, violarita e spionkopita, com análises para os teores em elementos maiores e menores neles presentes. Entre os sulfetos identificados, a violarita (FeNi2S4) e a spionkopita (Cu39S28) ainda não haviam sido descritas anteriormente no Domínio Canindé. Evidências de alteração hidrotermal tardia nos gabros apontam para gênese dos minerais secundários violarita e spionkopita por alteração dos sulfetos primários de Ni e Cu respectivamente.
O Complexo Gabroico Canindé é um corpo máfico-ultramáfico com cerca de 240 km2 intrusivo em rochas do Domínio Geológico Canindé, do Sistema Orogênico Sergipano. A sua intrusão é de idade 690 ± 16 Ma e ocorreu durante evento de distensão continental no Brasiliano. O Complexo Gabroico Canindé é constituído por uma diversidade litológica que varia de anortositos e troctolitos a hornblenda e olivina gabros. As análises de litogeoquímica por fluorescência de raios X (FRX) indicaram que as rochas são básicas a ultrabásicas, variando de gabro a gabro-peridotítico, com tendências negativas de MnO e FeO, e positivas de K2O e Na2O relativamente ao conteúdo em SiO2, relacionadas com processos de cristalização fracionada. A mineralização de Cu-Ni ocorre disseminada, sob a forma de calcopirita e pentlandita. Análises por microscopia eletrônica de varredura (MEV) determinaram que os sulfetos primários apresentam suas bordas alteradas para spionkopita (Cu39S28) e violarita (FeNi2S), resultado de processo de oxidação por exposição desses sulfetos a ambiente com alta fO2, durante evento hidrotermal pós-magmático. A composição isotópica do enxofre, analisada pela primeira vez para os sulfetos primários do Complexo Gabroico Canindé, situa-se entre + 1,3‰ < δ34S < + 2,7‰, o que indica que a fonte do S é não magmática, apontando para uma origem dos sulfetos associada a processos de contaminação crustal. Os resultados aqui apresentados indicam fontes magmáticas para os cátions metálicos e contaminação crustal para o enriquecimento em S, permitindo classificar as mineralizações de Cu-Ni como de origem magmática com contaminação crustal. Esse tipo de depósito magmático, derivado de contaminação crustal e tardiamente afetado por processos hidrotermais, é representado por depósitos mundialmente conhecidos como Duluth (EUA) e
<p class="Normal1"><span>A Província Pegmatítica da Borborema, está inserida dentro do contexto da Faixa Seridó, abrangendo uma área de 75 por 150 km<sup>2</sup> entre os estados da Paraíba e Rio Grande do Norte. É mundialmente conhecida por seus pegmatitos mineralizados em Ta-Nb, Be, Sn, Li e gemas. Esses pegmatitos possuem idade Cambriana e a sua mineralogia e estrutura interna vêm sendo estudadas há mais de meio século. O presente trabalho tem foco no mapeamento geológico de detalhe do Pegmatito Alto do Calango (PAC). Na região estudada ocorrem os litotipos das formações Jucurutu e Seridó, além de granitos com textura pegmatítica e diques pegmatíticos. O granito pegmatítico é do tipo homogêneo e intrude os mármores da Formação Jucurutu estando orientado na direção NE/SW. Os corpos pegmatíticos são do tipo heterogêneo e apresentam comprimento variando entre 58 e 36m, com espessura máxima de 15m, orientados segundo as direções NE/SW, E/W e NW/SE. O PAC possui uma mineralogia composta por espodumênio, feldspato alcalino, plagioclásio, quartzo, muscovita, apatita e granada. A identificação desta mineralogia permitiu classificá-lo como um pegmatito da família LCT, da classe dos pegmatitos ricos em elementos raros (ELR), subclasse ELR-Li, tipo complexo, subtipo espodumênio.</span></p>
