As part of the Future Home project, research was conducted to look into ways of improving the security and develop methods and reliable systems to detect possible failures and to avoid any harm to the machinery and installations and, above all, to the workers in the construction site.The work described in this article deals with the development of a particular security system, using both existing commercial technology and specially designed equipment. The compulsory safety helmet required for all worker in construction sites is used as the base to accommodate miniature positioning and communication instruments (see figure 1). The position and ID of each worker is sampled periodically and sent via radio to a monitoring station, where the information is compared to a database containing the tasks and processes being performed in the site. According to this, workers and machines' positions are known in each instant and risk situations may be recognized immediately and therefore damage can be prevented. If certain workers and particular machinery and equipment elements are not supposed to be in certain locations for safety reasons, an automated system can be used to detect the situation and make the adequate decision to prevent a possible accident. The proposed system is meant for modern construction systems where workers and automated/semi-automated machines coexist.

A robotized manufacturing cell of pre-fabricated GRC (Glass Reinforced Cement) panels for construction industry has been developed by DISAM for the Spanish construction company Dragados, S.A.The main contribution of the developed system is the automatic program~ ming and control of the whole plan. The architect's 3D-drawing of the building facade done on a CAD system serves as input. From the CAD design, the optimum facade to panels partition is obtained. In order to manufacture each panel, automatic task and path planning are performed for the equipment present in the manufacturing cell: spraying robot, PLCs, control computer, etc.

-Tunnels environments are characterized by dust, humidity, and absence of natural light. Artificial and natural impacts, change in load criteria, or the simple effect of ageing, make tunnels require inspection and maintenance. These operations are commonly performed by human workers taking time and expertise without guarantee quality control. Robotic tunnel inspection and maintenance (RTIM) introduces high productivity, quality and repetitiveness. This paper describes the current trends in the subject, and introduces new technologies such as scenario modeling, robotic platforms, image and ultrasound sensors, control algorithms and decision making strategies. Additionally, the result of several recent and ongoing projects will be presented.

The purpose of this paper is to design a soft robotic neck prototype with two Degrees of Freedom (DOF) and propose a control system based on a fractional order PD controller (FPD). The neck will be able to perform movements of flexion, extension and lateral bending. To achieve these movements, the design is made based on a cable-driven mechanism, with components easy to manufacture in a 3D printer. Simulations are performed to validate the feasibility of the developed parallel robot prototype and the robustness of the proposed control scheme to mass changes at the tip.
