Este artículo presenta el análisis del consumo de medios y tecnologías de información y de comunicación (radio, televisión, productos audiovisuales, internet, teléfonos móviles, videojuegos e impresos) de los habitantes del resguardo Wasiruma y, la relación de este proceso con el de la configuración de la valoración social de lo indígena. A partir de un trabajo etnográfico y de la aplicación de una encuesta se identifica la predilección por la televisión, la radio, las telenovelas y las músicas transnacionales. Además, se evidencian conflictos que se generan al interior de la comunidad por estos consumos y la percepción acerca de la invisibilización de lo indígena en la información noticiosa. El estudio muestra el carácter poroso de la identidad indígena y las maneras en que los medios van complejizando las interpretaciones sobre la vida en común.
