Resumen. Se presentan los resultados de los estudios paleoambientales realizados en la cuenca media del río Porce (Antioquia, Colombia), los cuales arrojaron importantes datos sobre la historia de las coberturas vegetales de esos lugares y de las áreas circunvecinas asociadas a herramientas en piedrapara talar árboles y procesar elementos vegetales, constituyen evidencias de la “antropización” del bosque subandino a partir de una dinámica de apertura y mantenimiento de claros y del aprovechamiento de espacios abiertos, formados en condiciones sucesionales naturales.Abstract. The article presents the results of paleo-environmental studies realized in the middle bsin of the Porce River (Antioquia, Colombia) which represent important data about the history of the vegetation of these sites and the surrounding areas associated with stone tools to down trees and process vegetable elements, and which constitute evidence of the human modification of the subAndean forestfrom a dynamic of opening and maintenance of clearings, and the taking advantage of open spaces, formed in natural series conditions.
