Palavras-chave: cálcio, digestibilidade, enzima, fósforo, tíbia Phytase dietetic supplementation on nutrients metabolism of broilers ABSTRACT -The experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of phytase enzyme supplementation in diets on the metabolizable energy (ME) and on the apparent ileum digestibility coefficients of the dry matter, crude protein, calcium and phosphorous, and to determine the deposition of ashes, calcium and phosphorous on the tibia of broilers. It was used 350 Ross male broilers from 16 to 25 days of age distributed in a complete randomized design with five diets and ten replicates of seven birds per each experimental unit. The diets which were corn and soybean meal based were formulated considering the availability of metabolizable energy, crude protein, lysine, calcium, and available phosphorus according to the nutritional matrix of phytase enzyme, and supplemented with 0.5% of chromium oxide. The diets were the following: positive control; negative control 1; negative control 2; negative control 1 + 250 ftu; negative control 2 + 500 ftu. The phytase enzyme supplementation at levels of 250 and 500 ftu/kg of diet improved the energetic values of the diets by 36 and 54 kcal/kg of dry matter, respectively. The use of phytase improved...
Palavras-chave: casca de soja, composição química, farelo de soja de alta proteína, farinha de gérmen de milho integral, milho, milho de alta gordura, soja integral tostada Metabolizable energy values of feedstuffs to broilersABSTRACT -The chemical composition, the apparent metabolizable energy (AME) and apparent metabolizable energy corrected by nitrogen (AMEn) of six feed of vegetal origins were determined by the total excreta collection method. A total of 252 male broiler chicks of the lineage Ross with 21 days of age were distributed in a completely randomized experimental design, with seven treatments (one basal reference diet and six test diets), six replicates and six birds per experimental unit. The evaluated feeds were: corn (CO), high oil corn (HOC), whole corn germ meal (WCGM), toasted whole soybean (TWSB), soybean hulls (SH), high protein soybean meal (HPSM) with 50% crude protein. The evaluated feeds were included in the dietstest in 40% and 25% of the reference diet, for the energy and protein feeds, respectively. The values of AME, in kcal/kg of as fed, for the feeds CO, HOC, WCGM, TSB, SH and HPSM were 3.402, 3.627, 3.019, 3.419, 814 and 2.070 and the AMEn values were: 3.393, 3.595, 2.935, 3.279, 741, and 1.984, respectively.
A randomized block experimental design was used, with five treatments and eight replications of 20 birds per experimental unit. Treatments consisted of including 0, 5, 10, 15, or 20% sunflower meal in a basal diet. Birds and diets were weighed at the beginning and at the end of each experimental phase (1 to 21 days and 22 to 42 days) to determine feed intake, weight gain, and the feed:gain ratio. Two birds per replication were slaughtered at 42 days of age for carcass evaluation. Feed intake was linearly reduced in the starter phase (y = 1185.1 -2.1x; R 2 = 0.97), with sunflower meal inclusion in the basal diet, and the feed:gain ratio linearly improved in the total period (y = 1.6404 -0.0018x; R 2 = 0.62), whereas a quadratic effect on the feed:gain ratio was observed in the starter phase (y = 1.3943 -0.0069x + 0.0002x 2 ; R 2 = 0.96). No significant differences were observed for carcass yield and cuts. The best economic performances were achieved when the birds were fed diets containing 5% sunflower meal in the starter phase, and 0% in the grower phase and total period. The inclusion of 20% sunflower meal in the diet of broilers up to 42 days of age did not show harmful effects on performance.Key Words: alternative feedstuffs, carcass, poultry production IntroduçãoNutricionistas têm buscado alternativas que t...
