RESUMO:A língua portuguesa, da mesma forma como o ser humano, evolui no curso da história; afinal, só existe uma língua porque existem falantes que a mantêm em uso. Mas há uma cultura muito forte da predominância da gramática normativa como única abordagem linguística válida, o que confunde a concepção de língua e induz ao preconceito linguístico. A partir disso, criam-se mitos que disseminam ainda mais o preconceito na sociedade. Nesse sentido, este artigo, baseando-se em uma pesquisa quantitativa, teve como objetivo analisar a percepção de língua que os participantes possuem, e verificar se esses mitos realmente fazem parte de suas percepções. Para tanto, foi aplicado um questionário no Google Formulários no qual 143 participantes avaliaram enunciados que reproduzem concepções de preconceito linguístico. A partir da análise dos dados, observou-se que existem muitos conceitos distorcidos sobre a língua portuguesa que contribuem para a propagação do chamado preconceito linguístico. ABSTRACT:The Portuguese language, just as the human being, evolves in the course of history, after all, there is only one language because there are speakers that keep it in use. But, there is a very strong culture of the predominance of normative grammar as the only valid linguistic approach, which confuses the conception of language and induces linguistic prejudice. From this, myths are created spreading even more prejudice on society. In this sense, this article, based on a quantitative research, had as objective to analyze the language perception that the participants have, and to verify if these myths really are part of their perceptions. In this way, a questionnaire in Google Form was applied with 143 voluntaries who evaluated statements that reproduce conceptions of linguistic prejudice.
