This study was aimed at developing the valid and practical civic education textbook with problem-based approach of civic education course at Sriwijaya University and at finding out the potential effect of the textbook use with problem-based approach towards students' problem solving skill. Thus, that skill can be used by the students in the life of nation, state, and society. The subjects of this study were the students taking civic education course in odd semester of 2019-2020 academic year selected through random sampling technique. This study was a research and development research. The processes of this study were done by testing the product validity through material and language testing indicating that this textbook was valid to use. Then to maximize the study, the product was also tested through some stages, i.e. one to one, small group, and field evaluation in which the results would show that this textbook was practical to use.
The purpose of this study is to develop a documentary film media in the civics education course at Sriwijaya University, which is valid and practical so that it is expected to improve students' ability to solve problems. Thus, the knowledge and abilities obtained by students can be used in the life of the community, nation and state. The research subjects were students taking civic education courses in the odd semester 2020-2021 which were determined by random sampling technique. This research is a type of research and development. The research process was carried out by language testing which obtained 82% results with valid categories, then material testing obtained 83% results with valid categories and learning media tests obtained 91% results with valid categories. Thus it can be concluded that this learning media is valid for use. Then as a refinement the researchers conducted trials with various stages, namely one to one, the results obtained were 92% in the very good category and 78% student activity level, then the small group stage obtained 93% response results with very good categories and 76% student activity level and Field evaluation obtained a response of 90% with a very good category and a 77.2% level of activity with the conclusion that the media is practical to use. The pretest results obtained an average value of 6.63 and the posttest obtained an average value of 7.96 with an increase of 1.33 with an N gain of 0.4 with a moderate category which indicates that this media has a potential effect on improving students' ability to solve problems in Civics lectures.
This study aims to see the importance of integrated character values in national integration courses as part of a needs analysis for the development of character values-based national integration textbooks. As an independent nation, of course, we must have values as a guide in acting and behaving. Especially for today's young generation, because of the rapid development of technology, information and communication, it is easy for foreign cultures to enter without boundaries and the risk of conflict is even greater. The national integration course is one of the courses that facilitates lecturers in instilling the value of unity and integrity, independence and love for the homeland, but furthermore, textbooks are needed that can be read and guided by students independently. Where when these students read textbooks it will increase the values of the nation's character that should exist in them. Through a questionnaire distributed to 40 students, 85% of the students responded that they expressed the importance of these character values being discussed in detail in a national integration textbook. Thus, the research team tried to further develop the textbook through R&D research methods.
The goal of this research was to develop a valid and practical character value-based constitutional law textbook at Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) Study Program and to find out the potential effect of the textbook in developing the students' character. Their character can then be used in daily life, in a community, in a nation, and in a state. The subjects of the research were college students taking constitutional law course in the odd semester in the academic year of 2019-2020 that was set by the random sampling technique. This research was developing research. The process of testing product validity through the material and language testing, indicating the validity of the textbook was done. Next, to improve product used, product testing with various steps such as one to one step, small group, and field evaluation was conducted, resulting in the fact that the textbook was practical to use.
