Um zu eruieren, welche Vorgehensweise den grössten Nutzen für die Betroffenen mit sich bringt (im Sinne der Bedürfnisse, Werte und Präferenzen der Patienten), ist es unumgänglich, die Patientensicht einzubinden. Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) messen die Einschätzung des Gesundheitszustands eines Patienten bzw. einer Patientin z.B. in Bezug auf ihre Einschränkung der Mobilität, Kontinenz etc. Wiederholte PROMs-Messungen zeigen Veränderungen dieser Einschränkungen über die Zeit Zusammenfassung Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) liefern Informationen zum Gesundheitszustand von Patientinnen und Patienten und zu den Auswirkungen von Interventionen und Behandlungen aus Sicht der Patienten. Systematisch erfasste PROMs, kombiniert mit evidenzbasierten Informationen, helfen, die medizinische Versorgung auf die Bedürfnisse, Werte und Präferenzen der Patientinnen und Patienten auszurichten. Aggregierte PROM-Daten ermöglichen es, die Effektivität unterschiedlicher Behandlungsmethoden zu evaluieren, und zeigen auf, welche Vorgehensweise im Kontext der konkreten Zielsetzung, der Begleitumstände und der Polymorbidität die besten Erfolgsaussichten hat.
